I've never seen "The Cool Ones" but I think what's going on here is, this new dance ("The Tantrum") was introduced on national TV and probably that first couple (at least) was hired to perform it at this swingin' club. And then, the rest of the hip teens get right into it by freezing in place when the music stops. So pretty soon, it'll be the dance sensation that's sweepin' the nation.
