Bottom line is there are several versions and there's this version. And I like this version too. If Guilty Gear was all pure hard rock/heavy metal anyway the series would have died ages ago.
Besides, the series is still a homage to hard rock and heavy metal. The makers just realized that if they stuck to being "pure" they'd end up with exactly the same game as the previous one. So what would have been the point in making a new one?
I kinda like the the way the fiddle was added to the already awesome rock songs. I don't like how this song had a bit too much fiddle. It seemed like the violin was more of the star in the music and not the rock essences. Otherwise, I think this song is fine.
As I said, I posted all the ROCK tracks, the others... I'll post when I'm not lazy.
The rest of the soundtrack are mostly short, less than a minuet long tracks. Now there ARE longer ones that I believe are used when not fighting one-on-one with someone. I'll try later today to weed out the longer ones.
Dude, what? That's like saying you love swords, they're as good as guns. Same objective, but completely different approach. Daisuke is all out rock n roll, nobou is all about epic.
1: Uematsu is a talentless bastard who's been recycling shit for the last twenty years. He once had creativity, just like Square once did. Just like Square, recycling rubbish led to his ability dying.
2: Swords are not as good as guns, that one was a typo.
XII had rubbish music. =/ C'mon, raise your standards man. Just because recycling music was acceptable in the 90's doesn't mean it should be now. Look at other RPGs with fucking awesome, un-recycled OST's. Wild ARMs 5, Shadow Hearts Covenant especially.
kristian83 I'm having a hard time understanding your message, did you word it that bad on purpose?
And personally I love this sound track, although I refuse to play a Guilty Gear thats not a fighter. Soul Calibur Legends and Mortal Kombat Shoalin Monks told us why fighters should be fighters.
I'm also not thrilled about the range of characters and the lack of Faust and Chipp.
For anything that makes me want to play this game is just listing to this. One my favorite songs from a video game ever. Thank you. This verison kinda sound like a One Winged Angel-ish verison of it. Which is not a bad thing in my book. :D

I really like this game series album but...
Not good... This soundtrack totally bad This not heavy metal This not Guilty gear soul...This childish music... older soundtracks better.. sorry ishiwatari this totally wrong :(
Realize that the Guilty Gear series was made as a tribute to hard rock and heavy metal.
Nonetheless, alone the song does sound fantastic. I doubt it could live up to the incredible ambience of running into Ky on the 3rd last round of GGX with Chipp, the organs beginning their ringing, and knowing that if I didn't Gatling Ky, that damned altar boy was going to combo me into his IK
Looks like not many people agree with you Lol. And remember that this was a new formula of design, music and gameplay, i mean just look at the title "Overture", Its a term used in classic music. i dont care if you think if this is childish (what could this have of childish anyway?!), but for personally, this thing KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKKSSSSSSSS ASSSSSSSSSSES!!!!

It's only called a fiddle when it's actually fiddling.

I think there is one song missing. The normal area theme while not fighting.

You better show some motherfucking respect for nobuo uematsu bitch.
And how are swords better then guns?
Guns can kill something at a large range.
Guns vs Sword: Sword guy comes running up, Guy with gun shoots him down before he even gets close.

I tend to disagree. Uematsu's music still sounds good (FF XII) and hopefully he'll compose the music for 13.
Weird typo you made there.

I don't know how far you've gotten into XII but the music wasn't that bad.
Maybe I'm a bit of a fanboy but I reconize shitty music when I hear it.

The music was the same as the rest of XII. Not terrible but not existant either. Forgettable. Completely unmentionable.
Find a song called 'Cluster Amaryllis' from Shadow Hearts 2. Now THAT'S fuggin' music.
Shinkada 2 years ago
That's becasue it's composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto.

Teh only new music Uematsu comspoesed for FF XII is teh theme song "Kiss me goodbye". Teh rest was composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Kapik1337 2 years ago
So Uematsu jumped ship? Smart move.
