There are far too many words to describe my thoughts regarding these two women. So, I'll just use a few that come to mind. In their youth they were beautiful and considered very fortunate to have lived in such riches, Sad to see that their lives didn't stay this way, but in the end they showed a very sustaining character that few people would live to tell. They are survivors in every sense of the word. Two wonderfully, fascinating, women. May they rest in peace.
I cant get enough of them....lovely women and the way they talk just marvelous...tea for two and two for tea...I just love themmmm so much...I would love to see a recent picture of little edie...she just passed away in 2002 (R.I.P Edie I love you ...beautiful and pure spirit
Darling video! I have so much sympathy for these interesting women now. Big Edie's rendition of Tea for Two is terrific!! And, she still has the bone structure. Love your video. The mother and daughter had a great relationship. They didn't clean and work because they were never taught to clean and work. Thanks so much for posting!!!

I agree 100%! People say they were a little 'mentally ill', but I always believed they were just 2 women who were left to fend for themselves and after years of being pampered they did the best they could! And God forbid, they had a good time! Love it!
@wallyBbare Your comments are not only ignorant, they show you lack of concern for mankind. Sadly, both women suffered from Schizophrenia. But there are many forms of "mental illness" one from you're terminally afflicted!
@jsbach15 I take it you're a licensed physician who treated the Beales? Diagnosing women who survived without jobs after being left by the men who took care of them with a serious mental illness is the only ignorant thing I've read.
I very much agree and have worshipped the Edies as my patron saints since their death. I discovered Grey Gardens just as the DVD was being released and have memorized every line from the original film and Broadway soundtrack. Thank you for posting this.

The most amazing thing to me is that little Edie outlived most of the people who put her down.
