yeah, i remembered the rumour. I believe it was alleged to be unlocked by use of the 15 slots on your PS1 memory card, play the game finishing the game with Leon and Claire, whose icons were Red or Blue on the memory card screen and create the Symbol used by Gouki/Akuma. and play through again with Leon get the room with the Moth creature and the "capsule" similar to the one the tyrant was in in RE1 would crack up, Gouki jumps out hits a Raging Demon on Leon, and then you continue as Gouki/Akuma

You know what, I remember that "joke" about Akuma being on RE2 and I had the magazine that year when it said you can "really" get him and play. He don't uses guns like this video (lol) or keys, he can go through any door from what I remember at the time and I still remember how to get him. FYI: I've never got him tho' but from the old mag, he throw the red fireballs... not sure bout' the spin kick. But I'm surprise that I see walkthroughs w/ A or S rankings but no Akuma???

@jankball I think this is how you get him... but the ones that know how, correct me if I'm wrong: Start off with the 1st Disk (Chris?!? I think that's the name of it) You know the part when you type in the name on the computer at the end of the game, type in Akuma... but still open the door, and beat the game. YAY. *NOTE* You going have to do this 3 times for both disk: Chris-Clare-Chris-Clare-Chris-­Clare

You can save after you beat the game right, that's the best and ONLY thing you can do so drink that coffee people, it's a long ride. When you play the 4th time with Chris (7th), he should pop up.
