  • hey, where do you get your clay? like a website?

  • for all of you saying that ur clay crumbles i put a little bit of baby oil on it and it softened it up and was workable :) you should try it. it worked for me?

  • EVERYONE. If you're saying sculpey is hard then you should try like squeezing the clay a little before u buy it. That's how u know if it's hard or soft.

  • in canada fimo is cheaper than sculpey!

  • I would buy craft smart it's the cheapest and the softest

  • @naomi6245 if your clay us too hard, why dont you try sculpey clay softener?it makes your clay softer. Or sculpey mold majer. Its a mold maker but you caan also use is for conditioning your clay

  • oh my gosh everyone is saying sculpeyIII is soft mine is hard and when i condition it well TRY to condition it,it crumbles into pieces :( but once in a while i get soft clay

  • @Naomi6245 If it crumbles you probably got old clay ):

  • @Naomi6245 that happens to me to but i just get it all soft and it sticks back together :D

  • @Naomi6245 I have found that even within the same brand the softness of the clay varies. Having it crumble apart sounds like the clay is old and lost some of the oil in it. As others have said, try using a clay softner or mold maker to soften it back up.

If you don't want to bother with that, the other options are to buy a different brand or mix the color yourself from softer clays.

You can test the softness of the clay before you buy it by giving the package a gentle squeeze.

  • LoL in the UK well atleast the Hobby Craft in my Area Premo and Sculpey III is cheaper than fimo:// :) Sculpey III and Premo are 2.19 and fimo is 2.29

  • I used SculpyIII for 2 years and now i bought Fimo and Permo! and there ALL AWESOME! Defenetly craftsmart is REALLY SOFT........... maybe a little to soft for some projects that i do. BUT I LOVE Premo! because of the finger pritns dont show up! And Fimo is cool to and sculpyIII is really soft! NOT AS SOFT as Craftsmart. I LOVE ALL! :)

  • i use original sculptey :P

  • @Britishkitty210

when i bought sculpey 111 it crumbled to pieces!!!

  • @MegaCreativity101 omg i won't use that but i use original sculpey

  • @MegaCreativity101 Same!I I had to put olive oil in it!

  • would it be a problem if we mix the different brands together in one charm?

  • @Adnilra97 You can use all the different ones in this video on one piece without an issue. I use all of the brands in this video, as well as Super Sculpey and Cernit clay, and I regularly mix the different brands to make a sculpture. You will have to adjust the temperature and figure out the length of time needed to bake, because they do vary a little bit.

  • do they sell sclupey lll at fredmeyer??? or where do they sell them??

  • I don't know some sculpy three colors are harder than others, like the black is sooo super soft but the elephent grey is sooo hard. I just recently bought that color aswell and it's still really hard. By the way, what are some tips to prevent against gross clay. I try keeping my hands and area super clean but I still end up with ittle fuzzys and bits of dirt that end up getting into it.

  • I LOVE FIMO

  • PREMO!sculpey & SCULPEYIII are the same sculpey... Its the same brand

  • i use sculpey for lego hair

  • Does anyone know any contests where they are giving away clay?

  • At my michaels, sculpey is 2.25, premo is 2.50 and fimo is 2.75... ironic isnt it? lol. I just thought id throw that out there >w<

  • also is the sculpey oringinal oven bake

  • premo is from sculpey its the same brand so how are they didffrent i think premo is softer right and it comes in brighter colors :)

  • @veragr13 maybe you are not baking your clay longs enough or at the right temperature. try keeping your creations in the oven for a little longer, maybe that will help don't burn them. Plz check out my cannel and subscribe :)

  • @HelloDez678 you bake premo and sculpey for 30 minutes per 1/4 thickness at 275 degrees fairenheit and fimo is for 30 minutes at 230 degrees farenheit plz check out my channel and subscribe :)

  • How long do you bake the clay or charms

  • yeah i think sculpey is okay i guess but not the best, when i first baked my sculpey creation the color was so different from when i started with. It looks the color nd makes it look dry. I think im going to start using fimo now:)

  • I thought that they were all the same so i goy fimo and i thought it rips apart alot and it also like sticks too): also its weird once u get the shape u want it has a weird feel

  • I am a beginning "clayer" as you called it in your video. Of the three you compared, I have picked up Primo, as well I have generic Craft Smart Polymer Clay. I was curious if you knew which had the least amount of shrinking during baking if any at all? Any help would be much appreciated.

  • You can't use microwave on those clays! it's oven bake clay

  • can you use a microwave/oven to bake them?

  • What about craft smart

  • I like to watch all about polymer clays!!!!!

  • Great Video. Very Helpful!!

  • hi...I have troubles with fimo clay...i really like the colors and the softness but after baking the charms can broke easily :( Do you have any idea what may cause it? I tried the sculpey and the clay is more elastic after baking

  • I live in Canada and sculpey and premo range from 3-5 dollars a bar. Fimo goes for about 1.50$-2.50$. Also craftsmart is about a dollar a block. I didn't like sculpey or premi because of their gooey like texture

  • i still think that fimo is softer than sculpey

  • @124hardees you can probably get fimo at hobby lobby or joanns

  • Oh cool!! I tried 2 in this videp, and one that is not. I treied premo,(I like it, my second favorite clay) sclulpy, (I really don't like it). I treid bake shop clay it is SO soft (It picks up finger prints) (I like it though) and the colors are so pretty!! I wamt to try fimo but i can't find it at either micheils or pat-catans. :P

  • @emanzaheer1 Michigan

  • I subbied

  • @Cococrafty um where in the USA do u live plz respond

  • Sculpey: for beginners kinda mushy

Fimo: great soft easy to work with MANY colors and effects

Premo: more of a firm clay that holds shape and small detail really well Sculpey: made in USA where I live it's $2.29

Fimo: made in Germany soft and effect is $2.49 and classic is $2.79

Premo: made in USA and is $2.79 There are many other brands but these are the best I know also sculpey studio is good for beginners and more advanced crafters hope this helps :)

  • @clay making yea but not a microwave

  • Sculpey was really hard for me to condition it was hard

  • Premo is from sculpey

  • REPLY MR BACK if u have Sculpy3

  • Ppl try sculpey first coz fimo soft and fimo effect are really hard to condition trust me I have it and it just flakes off the block and dosent mold into anything

  • How may seconds do you bake polymer clay

  • i like sculpey the most :D

  • i have years of experience and i and younger than u and i can make good charms and figures so does that mean that i am a begginner because i use slculpey

  • U R SweeeeeeeeeT ^^

  • Whats the best brand for this; A more glassy look after you bake it. (compared to a soft, what I call, "kidish" look)

  • @BratDollz101 most dont happen that way, usually you glaze it =)

  • Is it safe to bake clay in a food oven? Like an oven you bake your food in too lol.

  • Is oven bake clay microwave-able ? like instead of using an oven u use a microwave o_o

  • @Mamegomax3 Nope! And I wouldn't try because it would probably explode.

  • @funkypinkgal LOL okay ^^

  • @funkypinkgal is cold porcelien good to use? also air dry clay?

  • @Mamegomax3 ohhh hec no

  • @Mamegomax3 if you have a toaster oven you can use that

  • Comment removed

  • i like craftsmart

  • At Michaels they are 2.99 a block for all three brands. I use sculpey III and craftsmart. I like craftsmart the best because it's really soft and it's only 1.29 a block which is really cheap and it comes in tons of colors. I recommend craftsmart. :)

  • @funkypinkgal Oh. It seams like a great brand. I have black craftsmart, and It always stays shiney. =)
