the purpose of the analogy that Paul gives here is to demonstrate the difference in the heart of a true believer and one who only shows lip service to the gospel. any effort to draw other qualities from this analogy is to fail to understand the purpose of analogy-to convey a specific point intended to be well illustrated by it. to over-emphasis every point in any analogy or parable and to make it say what it was not intended to address, is to fall into error, and to miss the point of it.

Reading the comments--so JermarParker assumes we can hate God, abuse grace, & still get a passing grade? I mean, he's hated human teachers & THEY gave him A's.

Sorry Jer, the Holy Lamb of God isn't some balding ex-coach who doles out matching quizes because he's too LAZY TO CARE if you really grasp the material.

In the parable, the A was given at the TEACHER's discretion. No one stole an "A" by sitting near the smart kids so they could micmic their answers. No was allowed to CHEAT.

both physics and math majors were saved. why? because they accepted the gracious gift. and if they didn't earn the A, the why would he have to act upon keeping the A up? the math majors would be lost if they rejected the A.

God sets you free to find joy in serving Jesus Christ. He doesnt force you to obey Him. But if you're want to search for joy in sin (you'll never find it) then thats their business but you cant condemn someone based upon how they act.

The A in washer's parable represents Jesus. the announcement of the A represents the gospel of Jesus Christ. the professor represents God and the the Physics majors represents the disciples and the math major represent the typical born-again believer.

the gracious gift requires no payment. but it must recieved through faith.

washer said that everybody accepted the A. although the math majors threw the books away, they still accepted the A(Jesus) and they believed what the prof. said

If you watch the entire video here, the math major actually represents the lost carnal church member that professes Christ.

The math major says he loves God, but he loves sin, relishes it, and loves the world.

"If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth."

(1John 1:6)

If you walk in the darkness, it PROVES you are not in Him.

Everybody said that they accepted A, but they did not prove it.

So how do we prove it?

i received plenty of As from teachers I hated.

they profess to have faith in Christ, not love Christ

I love Jesus because He first loved me.

so what if the carnal christian abuses the free gift, he/she is still going to heaven and he/she is still a child of God. some kids hate their parents, but that doesn't mean that person is no longer a parent to that kid. God is as a loving Father. and good shepherds lovevtheir sheep

God is not a fallible parent who can't keep His children under Himself.

If a father lets his daughter run out at night with boys and have her do anything her flesh wants to, he would be a irresponsible father for not watching over her daughter.

My friend, God is NOT an irresponsible father. He knows all His children, and all His children though they may stumble, are walking with Him.

If you run and sin like the devil with no guilt, it only gives EVIDENCE that God is NOT your father. GB

God will discipline his children

so if i make my mom mad, then thats the evidence that that woman is not my mother

good parents chasten and discipline their children

same with God. so let the carnal christian sin likethe devil. be not deceived, God is not mocked. He will recompense. whom GOD LOVES, he will chasteneth. they might not love God, but GOD LOVES THEM.

and besides the punishment of sin comes from sin itself. (i.e. drinking-alcoholism, smoking-lung cancer, fornication-STDs)

God's people can sin, they stumble.

Good parents do chasten and discipline their children, as God does. God will NOT let His people run without repentance.

Is a child disciplined under his father if he has sex all he wants against his will, steals his dad's money, and lives immorally? There's no discpline. God disciples, His children repents, though they stumble.

My friend, if you have something burdening you like a sin, don't be against what I say in an attempt to justify it, let us talk....

Well you can't force people to like something, nor obey it.

It's worse because those people's have reasons to not want to obey too.

Them math majors wanted to go off and do math, you shouldn't try to keep them from that with guilt.

Just know that breaking the law demands justice, and without Christ as your defence, you will stand guilty 100%.

Guilt of what to whom and why?

I don't quite get why god had to sacrifice himself to himself in the first place. Do you believe there is something special in human sacrifice?

The smell of blood was apparently "pleasing to god" but I don't know what sediment that was in, I suppose their both right anyway.

Also in the vid the person holding you guilty (I assume is the teacher) puts on a nice front, but if your describe the other side to the front that's almost deceiving (devil like).

Because although I don't believe in god I am still able to read the bible and acknowledge what it says.

I can't find anything that disproves it without at the same time being hypocritical so unless you put some forwards I will have to say it's right.

Nothing in the conscious world is a proven fact I just too picky about it.

Let use common sense here. If someone put a microchip in your brain and recorded everything you done your whole life and every idle word and everything you thought , And invited all your family over .And played the recording . Could you sit there and not be embarrassed and ashamed . Well my friend that is what the holy God of the universe sees. Like in the civil court if you stolen something or lied they would be a price to pay either jail or a fine. God payment is your soul in hell or JESUS

I believe no one has addressed your question, may I? You asked for the reason why God sacrificed Himself; He did it so that His beloved bride, His betrothed, the church (people who worship Him because they are more thankful than human language can describe) can finally get eternal joy, peace, love... HIMSELF. God is love, and when he loves someone, or gives them peace or joy, He is giving Himself to them. So give me Jesus!

jesus said even hating a man is the same as murder. so it's not an issue of simply giving into your sinful lusts, but even having them. your mind must be transformed by the Spirit of God before you can believe. if you're not His, He won't call you. but He is not willing any should perish, but all should come to repentance. in God's eye's you're no better than hitler. but He still loved you enough to die for you; as ungodly as you are.
