Have you attempted to pull the disconnects under load? I understand arcing can be a real problem when using breakers and disconnects not made special for DC.
Good story about how you got started with some Harbor Freight panels. Very informative. Did not know you'd be able to connect with the grid. What do you figure tiyr payback period would be.
hey just to let you know its not the volts that drop its the watts with solar panels bro so you may want to run a test on it and compare to the other ones but i do like the set up man......
But Until Now Most of the Inverter Around the World Still Can't Pass The RCD Most Inverter Are Problem With RCD Safety .I Have an Experiment For About 12 Years Already until Today About 16 Inverter Experiment Most Of Them Are Not Pass Home RCD ???? It Was Unsafe.
This is an awesome setup you have! Thanks for sharing your work. I've got me a couple HB sets, but not hooked up yet. IM wanting to do mine the way you have yours, grid tie with battery backup. I have a ton to learn, and just taking my time :) Take care, and God bless.
I really like how you did your main "Control Panel" For a guy that says he is a hoibbysit you sure make my work look bad. I just started with Harbor Freight Kit and you got me motivated. Keep it up, Videos like this are excellent guides for us newbies!.
Hi.. do solar panels make AC or DC power?? as im looking into makeing a micro hydro genorator.. and i have a solar charge regulator.... and want to know if it will work? thanks..
@ExtraSilver DC only for now....there are currently people experimenting to get AC from solar though.
So you are making a hybrid system, half hydro and half solar ?
I think some of those hydro and wind generators have charge controllers / voltage regulators built in (you would have to check on your specific model though to be safe).
Hey great job on your system I like to see the diy stuff.I have the same type of set up but I used copper plumers pipe for my rack.check my videos if you get time maybe they will spark some ideas for you as yours did for me.TAKE CARE
Its great what your doing but you need run your pannels in parallel if your small pannels do not have blocking diodes run them seperate I think you may be able to double your output. No punt intended good job keep it up every bit helps CHEERS WINDY NC
hi there i liked your video, I had a laugh with your "blue cool light" you`re doing a good job tho. 7 amps is not much coming from the solar pannels. you said you have a positive-negtive configuration on pannels that means you have connected them in series so you get more volts but less amps. I would recommend to connect them all in paralel to get 12 V and all amps adden together you should than get about 12-13 amps and will recharge your batteries faster. Good Luck!
Great system, I need to get me one of those 250watt grid tied inverters to use with my DIY system. Take a look at mine when you get a chance. Hi from sunny FL
hi good morning am in the 242 bahamas and i have are 1200 watts power inverter with a 12 volt battery but i thank i need more battery power. i want to run a 5'000 btu ac on it. can i do it i have 3 15 watts 12 volt panels
Not enough panel watts. Look to see how many AMPS the ac uses. The 45 watts panels produce about 2 amps per hr. I know for sure that this is not enough. You will need about 1000 watts or more to make enough electricity to power your ac. Air conditioners use a lot of power, and your may want to use solar to power other things instead of an ac unit. Hi from sunny FL
did you lose any amps when you put them 80 watts to the 45 watt i was told that they do if you do please let me know because i want to do that to thanks good vid check out my vid
hey bu d, u don`t loose any amps connecting panels in series for a small system. dont forget that the amorhpos type are not as effecient as the mono crysteline.

Great setup, I'm using 3 PV 230w each with 30A Controller and 4x105A marine batteries and having charging problem they never reach 100% of charge.
Can you kindly suggest any solution?

you only need a similar amp hour rating for batteries a 10 amp hour is in the range for no problems
