ha - right, on a train one can actually do something to be safer - once my girlfriend and I took an express train from NYC to DC, and we sat in the last car - but at 70 mph, it was like cracking the whip every time the train went around a bend - we had to move forward, it was too nerve-wracking, felt like the coupler would come loose and the car would go rolling across a field  :) Though once a French bullet train jumped the track and slid to a halt without cracking up - !!

One would think so - but from this particular accident we see that it's also possible to be in a stopped train and get rear-ended by a moving one coming up from behind - and you'd never know if you were going to be in the moving train or the stopped one - so split the difference - or else, when the train stops, run to the front & when it moves run to the back :D

@SupernalOne That's very good advice. In most train accidents the carriages at the front or back, depending on whether they are hit from the front or back, will telescope into each other. That means one carriage actually enters the other like a telescope and everyone in those carriages is usually killed or horribly maimed, not nice.

I've noticed in Sydney where I live the front and back carriages are usually fairly empty, at least during off peak times. Good if you want a seat,BAD for accidents

its a train... -_- it rides on tracks, this was most likely not caused by driver error, its most likely a glitch in the system, i.e. the light signals, so the train kept going, and well, its not fast to stop a train, put a little thought into your little fag comments next time you fucking stereotype...
