  • Taking that step from spectator to participant is huge for many people. Most of us are followers. We don't want to feel alone. Leaders have courage and they help others become free from their fears. Kudos Get EQUAL Texas.

  • BadKat: This is a beautiful representation of what we are trying to do. The people who participated were spectators moments before and they were personally invited to join the march.. some jumped at the chance.. other came reluctantly.. but in many a spark was ignited.. those marchers represent our community nationwide.. most are merely spectators in the movement for equality- we are inviting them to "join the march" It's not about changing hearts and minds but recruiting willing activists!

  • <3 This...big time! :)

  • BadKat: This was part of our "Take Back Pride" initiative and was done in San Antonio, Austin and attempted in Dallas (but the police shut us down). It is to empower the voices of the spectators; however, I really like your idea about doing this on a random Tuesday afternoon. We might just steal that one. :)

  • @jayrasung Can we do it in Hutto?

  • I support GetEqual completely, but something tells me this wasn't done on some random Tuesday afternoon. Pulling people into the streets during a Pride Parade is a very easy thing to do, you aren't exactly swaying hearts and minds with this one, Robin.

  • Show me what democracy looks like!

  • tears and pride!

  • Courage and Respect.
