Why does the man holding the empty gas can pump it up and down ? Is he letting the driver know that the gas can is disengaged from the car and that he can leave when ready? Seems that they all do that.
Car is from the Nationwide Series. The race was the 2005 Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway, the driver of the #43 Scott Towels / Remke Markets Ford was Aaron Fike, and he finished in 18th place, 1 lap down.
no, if they had a "fuel spill" penalty , every car at every race would get it, on every stop, theres always a tid bit of gas that comes out of the overflow, once the catch-can is removed

@PhantomDrums917 just letting the crew chief know that the gas is done and he can tell the driver to go

The car sitting still from 0:19 to 0:40 ..Clearly these guys have to work on the car all week and not just show up on Saturday to change tires.

This is a Nascar Busch Series race. The year: I'd estimate about 2004 or 2005 based on the car model shown (Ford Taurus)

What kind of race is this? That was about a 21 sec pit stop
seal0716 1 year ago
@seal0716 the nascar (then) busch series. pause it at 0:37 and look at the oval sticker on the left. it's the very top one.

why does the gas man wait so long to put the 2nd tank in?
Chupacabrayo 4 years ago
So that he doesnt get in the way of the tire changers, because anyway he is going to finish refueling before they change the left side tires.
