  • im getting a sand boa!!!!!!!!!! so happy!!!!!!!

  • shit! that scare me

  • I hate autocorrect sometimes.

  • Sadly yes. He took ill. Not many veterinarians who dealt in hero's then so I had to put him down. Of course I have my pick of herp specialists now.

  • My first snake was a ball, but right out of the shop decided to go on a hiatus from feeding. Freaked me out. Weeks of feeding it to no avail. One of my friends was much more patient and it eventually started eating again, and was a good pet for him. My second was a sand boa. He had beautiful orange coloration with the usual dark brown spots. Loved that snake. Mine ate just like this one. He'd get the whole face in his mouth in one bite and just swallow it down. Live or F/T made no difference.

  • jesus christ he like crushed its skull

  • Dead food is boring xD

  • i reccomend u use hemostats or reptile tongs... one day u will get bit

  • Cool.

  • how long does it take for it to get full grown?

  • WTF...IS IT IN A BOX?...OH HELL NO ....WHERE IS THA AQUARIUM

  • wtf dude..i jumped when he bit that thing...shit!

  • wth

    it crushed the mouse's head

    :O

  • Nice i just got a sand boa today :) i love him he is a male we named him Stitches :D

  • Are they friendly?

  • @bowmaster24 Apparently not to mice..

  • I'm thinking about getting a sand boa- I suppose it's normal for them to just sit there for a while/eat very slowly? They seem to be so laid back. X3

  • its a girl - u can see it at her tail, its shorter than a male's one

  • nailed him right in the face!

  • I have mixed opinions about sand boas. They look like a giant turd but they look so cool at the same time!

  • beautiful snake

  • Nice video! And nice looking KSB!

  • Wow, she is so pretty. I've wanted a anerythristic one for a long time.

I love how fast she is.

  • Is it bad if you feed them live ones

  • @yoyoyoyo078 so does every one else

  • is that a worm

  • @microtekpwr no a snake : )

  • i jumped lol

  • Every breeder iv contacted and every web page and book iv looked in are telling me about 50 different things, But most are saying, aspen apart from Snad and i know SB have a way of not taking in the sand when burrowing, I'm just trying to make sure,i get nothing wrong, jerk off, So don't go getting pushing like you know everything, you were in my predicament once too when you first started, then your head got too big, Also don't go calling me mate one because i am not and two I ain't a guy.

  • What size viv would you keep a male adult in? and what substrate and how often do you feed?

  • what substrate , ha , the name kind of gives it away mate , SAND , do the research before ever getting any reptile , feed around once every 5 days to a week , and keep an adult in at least an] 2.5ft wide bt 1ft by 1ft , should sufice , but yeh do the research

  • Snake : get out of my face.

Snake: don't make me tell you again.

    Snake : move fluff

Snake: You know what i aint even hungry but for your cheek ima guna eat ya anyways.

  • LOL made me jump when it struck

  • lmao same here

  • @sogy6789 me too lol XD

  • They're shaped like a turd, and look dead.... Perfect camouflage :D

  • lmao I love these snakes but you're so right. Turd-like and great at playing dead :P

  • feeding in a separate container reduces the chance that they will ingest substrate while feeding. Many people claim that it also reduces the chance that they will strike at someone trying to take them out of their cage as they associate the box with feeding and not their "natural habitat". My bull snake happily feeds in a large cooler before I move her back to her enclosure.

  • this is true with most snakes , but i feel with sand boas it doesnt make a difference , as they live in the sand an probz ingest the odd few grains every so often , and so long as the defrosted mouse isnt wet, then its not gonna pick up the grains of sand , but i completely aggree with how it reduces the risks of them striking out

  • What he should take them out back in the wild? Errr think before you write.

  • Great looking boa! it made me jump when it struck! i am thinking and wondering: Rosy boa or Sand boa?

  • dead? lol you feed dead, i couldnt do it my snakes like a more hands on approach as do all my carnivorous pets, water dragon pacman tarantula ect. but yeah as for the sand boia itself pretty good looking

  • OMFG I JUMPED AWAY TO THE TOILLET O_o I BECAME SO SCARED AT START LOL

  • Your snake is lovely and thank you for your pretty cool video.

Honestly, I do not understand why some people keep snake as pet, these snakes even could not play ball or frisbee. I think they just moving round and sleeping

  • that was the most boring snake video ive ever seen

  • how handelable are they

  • hgdhnbsfgbs

  • they are so gay and so cool to watch how? the are burried in the substrate all the time they are the gayest snakes in the world fuck them

  • awesome snake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol pet fly

  • piece of fuck sand boa my pet fly would kill that piece of shit

  • ok not sure what your on.

  • how long is yours?is it a boy or girl and is it full grown?

  • this girl is about 27 inches long.

thats usually about as big as they get.

  • @guambomb832 sand boas are one of the few snakes u can tell sex by from there features the tail is thicker and then the males witch is skinner and longer with a sleeker endeing

  • nice vid where did you get yours

  • i got this one at a reptile store about 4 years ago.

  • @turtleboy5001 i want to get a female for a 40 gallon. Should I use an under-tank heat pad or a ceramic heat bulb? I heard the heat lamp should be on for 12 hrs a day, but what about the heat pad?

  • how big do they grow?

  • about 2.5 feet for females

    smaller for males.

  • are sand boas friendly and handleable?

  • yes, very friendly.

just make sure you support their whole body weight.

  • How old is it? At what age can it breed?

  • this one is about 5 years old.

they can breed when they are a good size and great health.

    about 300 grams or larger.

    and about 2.5 feet long.

  • ive seen sand boas but i never seen it eat. it alot different from your average ball. cool vid

  • Lol, what a lazy snake, doesn't bother constrciting or anything...

I'll be picking one of these up I think in the next expo. They seem like a cool, smaller snake.

  • lol exactly

  • wow big pretty snake lol i'm getting one soon i had a question though is it better to keep them in tubs or tanks?

  • you can use either.

    it's really up to you!

if you want a display sort of thing

  • damn... at first i thought the snake was dead. it scared the hell out of me when i struck the mouse. nice vid... ugly snake though. i think i like your rosy boas better. thats just my opinion though. =]

  • haha alot of people think that.

    i like rosie's too lol.

but this was my first snake : /

  • It looks fake at first but the inpact made it look REAL! NICE man!

  • Where did you get your sand boa

  • from a reptile petstore in my area.

it has recently closed down though.

  • beautiful sand boa

  • thanks alot!

  • it looks fake at first

  • haha yep. she stays very still before she goes in for the kill

  • OMG thats fat lol i know they will get about to or 3 feet but wow lol mine only in a little 10 gallon until next year i might need to buy him a 40 gallon or something what size cage you got

  • big fatty lol is that a male or female because im pretty sure mines a male and im hoping it gets that size

  • this is a big female.

    she's about 2 and a half feet.

males will top out at about a little less than two.

  • thanks figured itd be to big to be a male

  • awesome specimen, are they harder to keep than rosies?

  • i think that rosys are a little more challenging but only because they are more agile and thus it gives them an advantage if they ever escape. but thats the only reason that they could be more difficult.

thanks for the nice comment too!

  • Rosies have one of the worst aim i've ever sween, but yeah they are pretty fast, got used to it though, i have a female garter who musks, bites and is agile when she escapes... so lolz^^

  • looks like he had another feed not long before dat u can the bulge in her/his gut and the blood on the cardboard lol

  • no actually i assume it is just the angle of the camera. but yes it was dried blood lol

  • NICE!

  • dude your sand boa looks awesome

  • thanks!

i am very proud to own an anery that has retained her amazing colors.

  • nice snake but anyway use tweezers its better for you and your snake take care

  • yeah lol. i couldn't find them at the time.

  • i wouldnt do that, i did that with my ball python and he was going for a strangle, so he stricked upward and he bit my. jsut a tip

  • i understand the risk of getting bitten if you feed a snake without using tweezers. just couldnt find the tongs.

  • scarred the living crap outta me

  • it scared everyone!!!! lmao.

    imagine holding the mouse

    i jumped.

  • WOW yeah id be scared of him biting me more then the mouse lol

  • haha she is still a nice snake.

  • yeahh

  • is dat as big as theey get?

  • yeah she is about 29 inches or so long.

  • crap... i was like ok any time know and when she took it i honstly jumped a little. haha

  • yea, she is beautiful mate

  • thanks!

  • YES!!! i want one!!! lol i have a rosy boa...it will prolly get as big as this boa...when its fully grown. lol.

  • rosy boas get a little bit longer than sand boas.

take a look at the ones i have!

    tell me what ya think!

  • nice sand boa cant wait till mine tht big the strike made me jump haha

  • haha it made me jump too.

then again all strikes make me jump.

she is especially bad about scaring me because you never know when she will strike.

  • oh yeah shes just like a skinny puppy dog
