I have a friend who underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments for a year. He was not offered health insurance at his shitty job, and owes nothing. He is recovering now.

I was born into a single parent household to a mother that only had a 9th grade education. We were extremely poor even by small town KY standards.
Many people are poor because of their own laziness. Everyone is not entitled to a wonderful life. There are things in life that people need to work for.

Instead, they embrace community organizing, marches in the street, collecting signatures on petitions to get more upside down reward systems into their neighborhoods. 46 million people are not SUFFERING without health care. Many are young and healthy and choose to not to have insurance. Health care is only necessary when someone is sick, maybe one in twenty. We currently have clinics and hospitals that turn nobody away. People who die often don't seek out treatment. There may be more efficient ways to run the system. That is what we should be discussing.

The saddest part about the whole system is that if there was no such thing as health insurance and we still had a free market system, especially one where lawyers couldn't sue to shake down honest and good providers, doctors would still be making house calls for 50 bucks, nurse practitioners would be treating most cases for $25. Everyone would be able to afford basic care better than now available with no insurance. Insurance would be inexpensive, only for chronic and catastrophic circumstances.
Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, none of the money paid into the system remains, Medicare and Medicaid is going bankrupt, running at a deficit and already is subsidized by private insurers. Socialized medicine is starting to bankrupt other countries, even though they have tort limitations and often long waits for care. In this country, even though many who aren't insured choose not to be and hospitals and clinics already provide care, we are told we must change the entire system. Very sad.

I was born into a single parent household to a mother that only had a 9th grade education. We were extremely poor even by small town KY standards.
Many people are poor because of their own laziness. Everyone is not entitled to a wonderful life. There are things in life that people need to work for.
I am no longer poor because I saved, worked, and studied my way out of poverty. There is no reason why others can't do the same, but there is no incentive to when they are given handouts.

The sad part is that the biggest pocket of uninsured persons comes from communities where capitalism and that evil free market method of investment in the community is demeaned. Instead, they embrace community organizing, marches in the street, collecting signatures on petitions to get more upside down reward systems into their neighborhoods. The community organizers should instead be organizing street cleanups, small business startups, neighborhood watches, and free market education.

46 million people are not SUFFERING without health care. Many are young and healthy and choose to not to have insurance. Health care is only necessary when someone is sick, maybe one in twenty. We currently have clinics and hospitals that turn nobody away. People who die often don't seek out treatment. There may be more efficient ways to run the system. That is what we should be discussing.

The saddest part about the whole system is that if there was no such thing as health insurance and we still had a free market system, especially one where lawyers couldn't sue to shake down honest and good providers, doctors would still be making house calls for 50 bucks, nurse practitioners would be treating most cases for $25. Everyone would be able to afford basic care better than now available with no insurance. Insurance would be inexpensive, only for chronic and catastrophic circumstances.

Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, none of the money paid into the system remains, Medicare and Medicaid is going bankrupt, running at a deficit and already is subsidized by private insurers. Socialized medicine is starting to bankrupt other countries, even though they have tort limitations and often long waits for care. In this country, even though many who aren't insured choose not to be and hospitals and clinics already provide care, we are told we must change the entire system. Very sad.

the government doesn't prevent anyone from shopping around for health care. Insurance companies with lower costs usually have less coverage. We've had market competition in the insurance industry for a long time, premiums are at an all time high, having risen more than 100% in the last decade. Compretition that only a public option could provide is what is needed to bring prices down.

it is wrong to say that free market economics is trickle down. Trickle down is more like what can be found in a government generated economy. Free market economics is more of a trickle sideways approach, with small businesses creating many pies instead of sharing the same one. The more that government takes over, the less incentive to produce. The more that is taken from those who earn it, the less investment capital to seed new small business start up.
