Listening to it again, the chord progressions do match, but barely. It's the fact that I expect something else that makes it seem off. It's amazing how he's able to take a rock(?) song and put it to a trance progression and not have it sound like crap. I can't tell you how many horrifyingly failure-ific attempts i've seen people make to mix two different genres of songs together.
