@thayerlaz92 Ive had one of those guitars.. It can seem a bit weird at start, but after a couple of days with that guitar, you will get highly addicted to it. The scallop neck is awesome, and the sound is really something else. I dont like standard fender-guitars, and i never really liked stratocasters, the tone, the neck.. But this guitar was really something awesome.
I live and die for Fender Strats!! But not so much for cornford amps. Also Tele's are wonderful too. This Yngwie strat sounds very good. The chords have a full body sound to them. The guitar has great projection. You can tell right away that even if it wasn't plugged in it is still loud. But there is only one way to really play and hear a strat...through a MARSHALL!!!
@CptColtFlash the ones they sell do, but that can be "fixed". he owns a lot of guitars that are unmodified so, surely enough, there must be some guitar that doesn't have the high action.
If people have a problem with the gauges, you should do what was done to one i had, just get a new nut, save the original one, and play with 10's. I never liked regular fender strats, but the Yngwie model was unbelievable
BTW, it makes sense (to my thinking) that YOU, of all people, could REALLY "get on" with a scalloped-fingerboard (STUPIDLY light-strings NOTWITHSTANDING - LOL!), because I always think of your technique (in both hands) as being SUPER-efficient/economical! I remember (one of the first clips I ever saw of you!) on YouTube where you did that lesson about "economy-of-motion" and "minimum-requisite-fret-pressure" etc! Also, you always seem so RELAXED (as does YJM!)
@ojiope I find a scalloped fretboard is tough to get usedto, but because of the lack of friction it makes playing a lot easier when you get used to it. Bends are a lot easier, although soloing in general never seemed to change for me
good job buddy!!! keep n rockin...sir, many peoples said The scalloped fretboard actually makes playing more difficult, and that it's easier to play solo..isnint real???
I picked one of these up in a local music store, mostly to try out the scalloped neck. It definitely would take me sometime to get used to playing. Very nice guitar though.
@Curbst0mped the scalloped fender not only to play Yngwie Malmsteen, I for example play a guitar paul gilbert also scalloped.greetings to all guitarists!!!

I don't know if there's any truth to this but I wouldn't change my string gauge on a scalloped neck for fear of breaking it.

8's are very hard to pick on.......you mentioned that you use 10's? 10's on standard tuning???????
i heard that this damages the bridge, what do think?
ZeErMaC 7 months ago
@ZeErMaC no that can't be true, 10's are still a light gauge.

sounds great, how did you find the scalloped fingerboard?
TomRichardson92 7 months ago
@TomRichardson92 Needs a really light touch. This guitar has 8's on it too which being used to 10's is quite hard for me to retain control.
starlinginspector 7 months ago
@starlinginspector have you ever tried 9-46 hybrid elixir polyweb strings ? if yes what do you think of it ?
zacdarider 7 months ago
@starlinginspector Do you have 10's on the Vigier. Maybe someday I'll sell a kidney and buy one.

@starlinginspector I can't even imagine playing with 8's ;)
