I love people putting animals as equals or above humans. You freaks are the ones that should be tied up. Animals can't be "murdered" no matter how much you use the term.
@yeahWhatHesaid Nothing to do with putting nonhumans above humans-It has to do with equal consideration given equal qualities.Nonhumans are sentient. They are aware & do not wish to die. They feel pain-joy-suffering-boredom-etc.All these attributes are also part of human consciousness. What distinguishes us "higher" than them?Aside from the force of might? Honest question-What makes U deserving of someone else's life? Did "gOd" tell you?Your parents? What/who gives you the right over another being?
Never known that calves are raised in these huge 'concentration or FEMA camps' in the USA. It's horrible. Imagine how many calves die there, then around the world, then the other animals that are abused in mass-industry is unimaginable.
Science has proven that animals have a much sharper nervesystem than humans. Most animals also have sharper senses like sight, hearing, smelling.
Logically it means that they experience abuse as intense, maybe even more intense than we do
I think this video sends the wrong message in a cows environmental stand point. I am not meaning to bash anyone when i write this but people from big cities that have never been on a farm don't understand the fact that every farmer doesn't raise their cows this way. I live on a small beef farm with 30 cows. The calves we have stay on the pasture with their moms all their lives but their is a time when they need to be weined off. I'm just saying this video is pointing more towards the big farms.
@666bio666 Indeed... This video is about DAIRY cows/calves. And in all industrial operations (logically) the calf MUST be removed from the mother in order to take the milk for consumers. AND in all industrial operations the male calves are pretty much "worthless".I don't mean to "bash" either - But when these "beef cows" reach the "profitable" weight-Just wondering if they approve of their lives being ended? When you say "all their lives" - what is that 11 months out of a potential 25 years?
@beaelliott I'm not saying that I don't feel bad for them, but this is just how we live. I have no problem with vegans. As far as farmers attempting to make an "honest" dollar - How can this be by exploiting innocent victims? A necessary shift from animal agriculture to growing REAL plant food is what is required. In time this will be so.
i understand that through this video your just expressing your views and stuff but just so you know calves cant properly digest grass at a young age. Usually it around 6 mths when they finally have the fully developed ruminant stomach and can handle the cellulose in the grass.
@nwatson8 Thank you for the correction on technical aspects... But you're right that this video was meant as a form of expression against the exploitation and cruelty to dairy calves... When or when they don't eat grass is of little consequence to the major thrust of the message. Thanks for your input.
@Yuffie3982 I thank you for saying not all farms are cruel. I even sometimes get attached to certain calves and cows on my farm. I love feeding and taking care of the calves, it makes my day so much better. We sell our male calves to local FFA and 4-H members. I have never taken one to a slaughter house, don't have the heart to do that. I just can't believe some of the videos that are out there. I respect your choice to be vegan. I only eat meat that I have raised and cared for.
@Charmed2305 You can't "care" for meat... You can only "care" for a living being. And that "care" would entail valuing their lives enough to NOT send them anywhere to be killed. Your heart sounds big... Perhaps you should re-evaluate what it really does mean to be kind?
What a load of crap. I'm not saying vegan is bad. The people that made this did NOT do their research. This gives all dairy farmers a bad rep. Calves can't be outside until 2 weeks old, they have a poor immune system. They have to have thier mothers milk for the first day to get colostrum to build the immune system. With out this the calf will die. We bed our calves on a mix of straw and hay. We feed them twice daily by a bottle. The calves do not "miss thier mommy".Do some research will ya!
@Charmed2305 There is a certain amount of artistic license given here... But the facts are still the same: Calves separated withing 24 hours of birth - Not the image one thinks of when they think of a baby calf. Drinking artificial milk (with slaughterhouse waste/cow's blood in it)... from a "bottle". Cow's milk is for calves. All species eventually wean themselves-Except humans. We don't "need" cow's milk or any "milk" after our baby teeth fall out.Poor babies that we steal milk and life from.
@beaelliott I do not feed our calves artificial milk. I don't know a dairy that does. We take the milk from the parlor and put in bottles to feed them. They are getting the same exact milk. Our cows milk does go to our calves.
@Charmed2305 - Everyone is free to Google "dairy milk replacements"... It's an industry standard. The only milk a calf gets is the first feeding of colostrum. The rest, as we know, is reserved for human consumption. That by the way we do not NEED in the first place.
Eating meat is a natural human thing. It says in the bible, animals were put here for man to kill and eat. I am against animal cruelty although, and i dont believe an animal should be abused; and if meant to be slaughtered, should be done without abuse.
@0XLilMissCX0 Actually there are many bibles and many interpretations of what "gOd" did or didn't intend for man to eat. But when it comes to the nit/grit of things - We are all given free will to decide what is ethically right. And no one will betray their faith if they refuse to participate in the slaughter or eating of animals. Kindness does not make victims of the innocent... Seems that that is the virtuous course to take in the spiritual sense of things.
you are an absolute retard. i live on a dairy. calves are born without an immune system so have to be inside for two weeks so the cold doesnt make them sick, wooden floors are the best because you can wash the and they drain to keep everything clean. calves dob't care about grass till about 3months old because they're stomachs haven't developed enough to digest it yet. FUCK HEAD. p.s these are DAIRY calves. you DO NOT eat them.....get your facts stragiht loser.
@balexig Of course dairy calves are eaten... What in the world do you think dairies do with the males who are worthless to the "milking herd"? They are penned up - Restricted from movement - Fed an anemic diet (which includes slaughterhouse blood). Then at about 4 months old they are carted to the slaughterhouse too. This is the way "veal" is gotten. Please, get your own facts straight - LOSER!
@thegefster Showing compassion and being concerned for nonhumans does not devalue respect and consideration for man. It takes nothing away from human rights to give animals a fair share at the life they were intended to live.
@beaelliott - If you would rather spend all your time and money helping a few poor animals than trying to help the thousands of human beings who starve each day then yes i think it does devalue human life.
@thegefster Actually if we fed plants directly to humans (instead of fattening animals first) we'd feed about a billion more people - thereby eliminating, or at least greatly reducing starvation. Now what is it YOU'RE doing to help mankind?
yeah llama person, i agree. Those fuckers can be vegan if they want. They do not need to force their lifestyles on everyone elso though. Fuck Peta too
cows don't talk. there is so many holes in this movie. First thing is this will never stop. we will always have veal. the only thing that will change is price. second thing is those cows are happy in those houses and if there was one in there that wasn't happy , who cares he is died in a couple of weeks. third thing is those calf's don't know about their mom or her milk. they think the guy feeding them every day is there mom.
I respect your dietary decisions, but what I don't respect you trying to force your beliefs onto other people. There is one thing you fail to realize, without the beef market COWS WOULD GO EXTINCT. When is the last time you saw a wild cow? Never, they are incapable of survival without human aid. I'm fine with it if you don't like to eat meat, I don't try to force food you don't like down your throat, so don't try to force everyone to conform to your beliefs.
@ThanatosBeMyGuide Your choices unfortunately, require the victimization of an outside party. It's not like you're choosing a red car instead of a blue one... Or a two story home instead of a high rise apartment. You see, your "choices" demand the killing of someOne else. And their lives have value to them. I would not see a sad world if cows went "extinct" they are only bred to be used and killed anyway - That's a pathetic excuse for "life".
Jesus, grow up people. It's not about calling meat eaters evil, simply that not everyone feels the need to eat meat to survive. It is entirely possible to have a healthy lifestyle without meat. In fact, vegetarians are shown to live longer. Stop trying to post 'omg i love meat' crap because guess what? I'm sure the majority of you do. But that doesn't change the fact that you're destroying your own environments by creating the demand for beef and veal. And abuse DOES exist in a lot of factories.
Fuck vegans and vegetarians HAHAHAHA OMG i just had a huge burger two minutes ago, so good, Angry whopper in my stomach yes indeed, Cows are stupid animals, they serve one purpose in life to become delicious steaks, burgers etc.
No matter what you say or do, animals will continue to be our slaves so keep wasting your time fag munchers AHHHAHAH
Im stating fact, whether you or 5 million other people stop eating meat or stop eating products from animals..........the world will continue to live on without caring......so why even try, just join us and feast on the delicious food
this is really sad I am gonna go vegan now. JK there is no fuckign way I am giving up meat. Although I do have to say I have never had veal and don't think I ever will because of the way they are raised :)
My father has been a Veal farmer for 35 years! HA HA HA.. you people are stupid and have a one sided story to everything. So what are you gonna eat? Or better yet, what do you think we should do with all the cows then? You want to raise them and feed them and wait for then to die and then bury them? I love watching the videos you put up cuz it makes me laugh at how stupid you really are. Tell me what you think...
Well as a matter of fact the more people stop eating and consequently buying meat the less Veal farmers and cows to be killed shall be. Bare logic. More people would have food on this earth ,less natural disasters, less obese feeding themselves on grease, higher life expectancy and less ignorant asking themselves what are we gonna eat if we do not kill the cow. That was not fun, that was irresponsible.
@tippycat1979 If people stop eating and buying meat, the only thing that will do is drop the price. It's my choice what I eat, nothing can take that freedom from me or you.
@Charmed2305 Choice is a wonderful thing when it doesn't involve the killing of innocent beings.People were once "free" to own slaves, to beat their wives, to have their children work long hours in factories.People were once "free" to target American Indians and others of color --- People were once "free" to lynch, to bash gays, to ostracize those who were divorced... Or had children out of marriage. Point is --- Our culture and civilization does EVOLVE! I have great hope for our species. ;)
My dearest Godof(f)ears14, you need to keep your wig on! As I said your calcium/phosphorus imbalance has gone straight to your neurotic head. Vegetables are very good for you and if you consume them regularly I think your ability to process your erratic and angry thoughts may become more lucid for you and your frustration may subside. Oh and by the way what is a 'walden' book? Why don't you have a nice tofu sandwich and calm down. Oh, and will the steak you cuddle up to be irradiated?
- name-calling, assuming I am a "little girl", etc.
- commenting rudely on a video meant to educate/inform
There is no need to fight about it. Your opinion is not needed here. If you wanted to voice yourself though, you simply could have said "I disagree with this video because..." followed by your reasons.
At least *some* people can make videos.. you don't even have any of your own. I'm sure the person that created this short film worked very hard on it. It shows - it's a nice and educational video.
In other news, people have been vegetarian and vegan for thousand and THOUSANDS of years. You and I and every other human on this planet, do NOT need meat to live.
@Charmed2305 No one is taking your freedom of "choice" to murder helpless animals for a food that could be easily substituted for something else... But what I am doing, and countless millions of others is trying to encourage people to THINK about what their choices entail.Perhaps to come to a kind spot in your conclusions... To be compassionate in your word AND deeds It's really quite easy...And it is being recognized as the morally right choice, as well as the environmentally sound one as well.
What a horrible argument. Serial killers Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer both were quoted saying that human flesh tastes like pork/pig flesh. According to you, if it tastes good, we should eat it. And since you think "pigs" taste good, than why wouldn't you eat humans too, if they taste the same??
Think about that for a while.
You like eating animals. Humans are a type of animal. So would you eat humans too?
Disgusting. You can't even leave a professional comment. You're just incredibly immature and you have not presented a single fact in your numerous statements below. All you can manage to squeeze out is that "MEAT TASTES GOOD."
If you think flesh is delicious, okay then.
I ate meat for more than half my life before I went vegan. I realized that I was actually hurting animals so I stopped consuming their skin. You want to cause pain, suffering and neglect to animals and their babies, go ahead.
Ha ha! You are a funny little guy. Carrying on about your protein and your strength. There are no bountiful nutrients in animal muscle. Your calcium/phosphorus imbalance is damaging your thinking process and because your anger is coordinating your line of argument your message is coming across as unbalanced and neurotic. What is a girl faggot? I thought you were a boy? I still think you would be wiser to curl up with a good book on D-Day and I think I know which book you'd choose too.
That aside, if you couldn't farm vegetables, how would you survive? Just think about it, Mr. Loves-to-eat-Meat. Humans cannot survive simply on meat. Plus, how would the cows, chickens and pigs survive for you to eat their flesh? News flash: those animals are vegetarians, too. They need to eat vegetables and grains.
What a great video! If that was a commercial on TV imagine the impact it would have! As for the young boy Godof(f)ears14 I can only assume that he is suffering from a calcium/phosphorus imbalance, brought on by the consumption of meat and dairy, which exhibits itself with belligerent behaviour. As for the starvation 'mental exercise' I presume mother cow would be with her calf anyway...I'd prefer to curl up with a couple of good books and starve to death peacefully.
Please try, just for a moment, thinking of the animals' feelings.
Have you ever had a pet cat or dog?? Did you ever accidentally step on their foot or tail? I'm sure they cried or ran away. That's because animals, like you or I, feel pain and experience fear. Farm animals feel the same as "pet animals." Just because one animal lives in a barn outside and one lives in the house, doesn't make them different.
Just to let u in on a lil secret that my family has kept hidden the living condiotions for those babies are terribly once a week they are cleaned and another lil secret my uncle can only kill 116 by law a week we do twice that much lmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooooooooooooooo
Hmm... thanks for sharing. How incredibly disturbing and disgusting. You will not find sympathy here. I have never consumed dairy products. I am a vegan and proud of it. You may wonder why I would change my life so dramatically. It's from people like you who notoriously abuse, neglect and harm animals on factory farms. Every animal deserves the right to live. You think a dog deserves proper care? So does a cow or a hen or anyone else! Just think about what "life" means to you for a minute!
It's because of our nature to be compassionate and to have empathy. Most people can put themselves in the place of a poor confined creature and have an understanding of their plight. It is what makes us human(e). Otherwise, we would be monsters if we disregarded suffering...
Dairy products are extremely addicting but in the end are bad karma food and thus also unhealthy. Soy-Milk, Rice-Milk and Almond-Milk are excellent substitutes for cow milk. Non-dairy ice creams are also superb. Non-dairy "cheeses" are not very impressive so far, but give the "Vegan Gourmet" brand a try, the best i've seen so far.
i love animals...i was a lacto-vegetarian but now i am strictly vegan. i don't want any of the mother's milk if it interferes with the nurturing/bonding between the mother and calf and especially if it leads to murder just for some cheese or milk...thanks for posting this
Wow have you been this way your whole, life! I hope in 15 years im still a dairy farmer, yeah cows were over breed to make more milk but all the bulls these day are High LPI So even if wanted to drop there milk down we couldnt, Dairy cows arnt like beef. The make milk . And even after the calve"in the wild" would stop drinking . Many cows died that way, c And you still sit there tell me my way is worse?Cus i bring them indoors when its cold out i care for the animals. I have pet cows!
I suppose the only thing I would ask is to watch a couple of videos... they should both be on my main page or playlist.... MAD COWBOY is one, and read the video description to that please.... then, if you can, watch EARTHLINGS.... it totally changed my life. Sometimes that's what we need is to see things from a different view. I mean you no disrespect at all.
I hope this and thousands of other videos hurt the PROFITS of your business. Afterall, dairy products are known to cause breast and prostate cancer, as well as arthritist, kidney stones, oh, this list just gones on and on, but who cares right??? as long as you have a few bucks in the bank, you can turn a blind eye to the evils of this business and the abuse. If your cows could talk do you think they would say, "oh yes, please, please, let me stay tied here and milked to death"!!!
What cows dont get milked to death. Our cows and many others are treated well. I dont know who tells you all this shit. but we have a sex seman so we only have heifers. And we dont breed the cows as much as you say. i live in canada, and well most of the year ifs - 40 and i would rather have my cows in the barn nice and warm that deal with the weather as if they where in the wild. Cows need to be milked if not they will did in lots of pain due to the milk going into thir blood flow.
The only cows that get milked to death are those raised for milk production... otherwise, they provide milk for their young. Like any other mammal, mothers provide milk for their offspring only until they wean them for whole foods. You are talking only about profit, profit for disease and suffering of animals.
You know you do put up a good fight..But your not here on a diary farm. If an animals dies you think i dont care. It hurts ok it does, they arnt just something that makes a buck. Over 70+ of the cows in my barn are my Fav by far, And half of them arnt the show animals. There was a cow that calved early and her calve was half dead. well you should see her now, She will never make it to milking cus she just cant, But if you know this cow. you would love her. i Mean a cow at 2 yrs old. 5 foot !
I have no doubt that running a family farm is very different from a "factory farm". Personally I would fall in love with all the animals. I don't like to see animals exploited, and in all honesty, I wasn't like this until a few years ago. It's as if I could understand things from an animals perspective. Remember, they have no voice and humankind is the dominate. Animal products are also very unhealthy (I didn't believe it at first either).... so I did a lot of research.
I read many books and came to a very eye opening conclusion. The China Study was an excellent read and is the longest study ever conducted between diet and health. Now I understand why there is so much cancer, diabetes, heart disease, to name just a few.
My own father worked in a dairy and made cheese many years ago, so I do know what you are telling me. I am not attacking you, please don't think that, I'm just saying that what you see now, may not be the same way you see things later
After a day, the calves belive your their mother. And they are happy. They have around the clock health checks. Cus we are allways in the barn. I also show cattle. do you think that mean??? Look at my video. there is nothing wrong with it.
I would believe that the calve would think you are their mother.... no doubt in my mind.... my real concern is the mother.... what about the mother that had her baby snatched shortly after birth to become veal. I've read stories where the mother goes mad looking for their offspring, some found miles from the farm - mooing (crying) for their little one.
Yeah, very sad. I saw this on TV the other day, the poor mother went through a very painful birth, licked the baby calf clean and they just snatched it away and lead her to a barn! I couldn't believe it. How can she not be suffering? The maternal instinct is so strong, they cannot speak, but it would be very foolish to imagine the mother would not be suffering greatly from this. It really made me rethink drinking milk and I've never done that before, never viewed it as cruel.
It's not only cruel, that we know, the milk we drink is extremely unhealthy. My own doctor said that the first thing humans should give up is all dairy products. You might be interested in watching this YouTube video - watch?v=yMHvMAUDHj4
Thanks DianeDi, I have decided to forgo milk wherever possible, as I cannot stand the thought of what they do to these mother cows. They apparently call out day and night for their calves. Then the cycle of suffering begins again until their bodies are so weak they cart them away to be killed! I bought rice milk and found it was delicious and even better tasting than real milk. I don't really need it & happy with the change, it's the easiest thing I've had to do!
Excellent choice, and if you can stay dairy free you will find many health benefits. Just browse around the website called NotMilk (dot) com - it is a wealth of information. I just wish I was lucky enough to have known everything I know now when I was much younger.
But somewhere - ethics must figure into desire... there are certainly many other options that taste just as good. These are also better for your body - and certainly better for the animals.
I have so many storie to tell you. And you still put in your thick head that im in the wrong. We had a cow go down yeah a cow jumped her, and she just sliped and really hurt her back legs. so we did everything for her. My dad bought a 7000$ Aquacow for her to be in water to get up. he had to travel all the way to the states. we sadly lost her, But thats not the point she was out side in the SUNSHINE and a cow jumped her. Her name was Jaz, She was a huge cow. As big as a bull. almost all black.
That is sad and your father sounds like a responsible man, and luckily he can afford care and equipment. Some can't, don't or won't and that is very upsetting.
Aw that's so sad! I'm so sorry about that. But still it's also sad that little calves are all cramped up in a tiny stall where they can't even turn around, is it not?
Considering YOU are a dairy farmer, I see who the RETARD really is. Get a real life where it doesn't involve abusing cows and their offspring. Screw u.
D: that is so sad

@balexig Of course dairy calves are eaten... What in the world do you think dairies do with the males who are worthless to the "milking herd"? They are penned up - Restricted from movement - Fed an anemic diet (which includes slaughterhouse blood). Then at about 4 months old they are carted to the slaughterhouse too. This is the way "veal" is gotten. Please, get your own facts straight - LOSER!
beaelliott 1 year ago
@beaelliott You vegans act like a cow is way more valuable than a human being. Get your head screwed on straight.
thegefster 1 year ago
@thegefster I agree
0XLilMissCX0 1 year ago
@thegefster Showing compassion and being concerned for nonhumans does not devalue respect and consideration for man. It takes nothing away from human rights to give animals a fair share at the life they were intended to live.
beaelliott 1 year ago
@beaelliott - If you would rather spend all your time and money helping a few poor animals than trying to help the thousands of human beings who starve each day then yes i think it does devalue human life.
thegefster 1 year ago
@thegefster Actually if we fed plants directly to humans (instead of fattening animals first) we'd feed about a billion more people - thereby eliminating, or at least greatly reducing starvation. Now what is it YOU'RE doing to help mankind?

dfholton 2 years ago
cows don't talk. there is so many holes in this movie.

@ThanatosBeMyGuide Very well said.
Charmed2305 1 year ago
@ThanatosBeMyGuide Your choices unfortunately, require the victimization of an outside party. It's not like you're choosing a red car instead of a blue one... Or a two story home instead of a high rise apartment. You see, your "choices" demand the killing of someOne else. And their lives have value to them. I would not see a sad world if cows went "extinct" they are only bred to be used and killed anyway - That's a pathetic excuse for "life".
beaelliott 1 year ago
mmmmmm delicious veal :)
omgitsdanman 2 years ago
Jesus, grow up people. It's not about calling meat eaters evil, simply that not everyone feels the need to eat meat to survive. It is entirely possible to have a healthy lifestyle without meat. In fact, vegetarians are shown to live longer. Stop trying to post 'omg i love meat' crap because guess what? I'm sure the majority of you do. But that doesn't change the fact that you're destroying your own environments by creating the demand for beef and veal. And abuse DOES exist in a lot of factories.
PoeticPain 2 years ago 7
Fuck vegans and vegetarians HAHAHAHA OMG i just had a huge burger two minutes ago, so good, Angry whopper in my stomach yes indeed, Cows are stupid animals, they serve one purpose in life to become delicious steaks, burgers etc.
No matter what you say or do, animals will continue to be our slaves so keep wasting your time fag munchers AHHHAHAH

this is really sad I am gonna go vegan now.

Tell me what you think...
thejoker49 2 years ago
I just wonder why you dont eat dogs or cats?
or do you?
strongassstuntman 2 years ago
Well as a matter of fact the more people stop eating and consequently buying meat the less Veal farmers and cows to be killed shall be. Bare logic. More people would have food on this earth ,less natural disasters, less obese feeding themselves on grease, higher life expectancy and less ignorant asking themselves what are we gonna eat if we do not kill the cow. That was not fun, that was irresponsible.
tippycat1979 2 years ago
@tippycat1979 If people stop eating and buying meat, the only thing that will do is drop the price. It's my choice what I eat, nothing can take that freedom from me or you.
Charmed2305 1 year ago

Oh, and will the steak you cuddle up to be irradiated?
fridaytieday 2 years ago 3
Mature, eh? Well, you're the one who is:
- cussing repeatedly
- name-calling, assuming I am a "little girl", etc.
- commenting rudely on a video meant to educate/inform
There is no need to fight about it. Your opinion is not needed here. If you wanted to voice yourself though, you simply could have said "I disagree with this video because..." followed by your reasons.
peepchick101 2 years ago
At least *some* people can make videos.. you don't even have any of your own. I'm sure the person that created this short film worked very hard on it. It shows - it's a nice and educational video.
In other news, people have been vegetarian and vegan for thousand and THOUSANDS of years. You and I and every other human on this planet, do NOT need meat to live.
peepchick101 2 years ago
@peepchick101 But who are you take the freedom of choice from people. It's a bigger issue that just vegan vs. meat.
Charmed2305 1 year ago
@Charmed2305 No one is taking your freedom of "choice" to murder helpless animals for a food that could be easily substituted for something else... But what I am doing, and countless millions of others is trying to encourage people to THINK about what their choices entail.Perhaps to come to a kind spot in your conclusions... To be compassionate in your word AND deeds It's really quite easy...And it is being recognized as the morally right choice, as well as the environmentally sound one as well.
beaelliott 1 year ago
What a horrible argument. Serial killers Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer both were quoted saying that human flesh tastes like pork/pig flesh. According to you, if it tastes good, we should eat it. And since you think "pigs" taste good, than why wouldn't you eat humans too, if they taste the same??
Think about that for a while.
You like eating animals. Humans are a type of animal. So would you eat humans too?
peepchick101 2 years ago 2
You want to cause pain, suffering and neglect to animals and their babies, go ahead.
peepchick101 2 years ago
I still think you would be wiser to curl up with a good book on D-Day and I think I know which book you'd choose too.
fridaytieday 2 years ago
What a lovely, mature, educated comment.
They need to eat vegetables and grains.
peepchick101 2 years ago
What a great video! If that was a commercial on TV imagine the impact it would have! As for the young boy Godof(f)ears14 I can only assume that he is suffering from a calcium/phosphorus imbalance, brought on by the consumption of meat and dairy, which exhibits itself with belligerent behaviour. As for the starvation 'mental exercise' I presume mother cow would be with her calf anyway...I'd prefer to curl up with a couple of good books and starve to death peacefully.
fridaytieday 2 years ago
Your utter ignorance only proves our point.
Please try, just for a moment, thinking of the animals' feelings.
Have you ever had a pet cat or dog?? Did you ever accidentally step on their foot or tail? I'm sure they cried or ran away. That's because animals, like you or I, feel pain and experience fear. Farm animals feel the same as "pet animals." Just because one animal lives in a barn outside and one lives in the house, doesn't make them different.
peepchick101 2 years ago 3
Just to let u in on a lil secret that my family has kept hidden the living condiotions for those babies are terribly once a week they are cleaned and another lil secret my uncle can only kill 116 by law a week we do twice that much lmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooooooooooooooo
Godofgears14 2 years ago
Hmm... thanks for sharing. Just think about what "life" means to you for a minute!
peepchick101 2 years ago 2
It's because of our nature to be compassionate and to have empathy. Most people can put themselves in the place of a poor confined creature and have an understanding of their plight. It is what makes us human(e). Otherwise, we would be monsters if we disregarded suffering...
beaelliott 2 years ago
Dairy products are extremely addicting but in the end are bad karma food and thus also unhealthy. Soy-Milk, Rice-Milk and Almond-Milk are excellent substitutes for cow milk. Non-dairy ice creams are also superb. Non-dairy "cheeses" are not very impressive so far, but give the "Vegan Gourmet" brand a try, the best i've seen so far.
ee1dea1 2 years ago
i love animals...i was a lacto-vegetarian but now i am strictly vegan. i don't want any of the mother's milk if it interferes with the nurturing/bonding between the mother and calf and especially if it leads to murder just for some cheese or milk...thanks for posting this

DianeDi 3 years ago 2
I hope this and thousands of other videos hurt the PROFITS of your business. Afterall, dairy products are known to cause breast and prostate cancer, as well as arthritist, kidney stones, oh, this list just gones on and on, but who cares right??? as long as you have a few bucks in the bank, you can turn a blind eye to the evils of this business and the abuse. If your cows could talk do you think they would say, "oh yes, please, please, let me stay tied here and milked to death"!!!
DianeDi 3 years ago
What cows dont get milked to death. Our cows and many others are treated well. I dont know who tells you all this shit. but we have a sex seman so we only have heifers. And we dont breed the cows as much as you say. i live in canada, and well most of the year ifs - 40 and i would rather have my cows in the barn nice and warm that deal with the weather as if they where in the wild. Cows need to be milked if not they will did in lots of pain due to the milk going into thir blood flow.
oakstorm 3 years ago
The only cows that get milked to death are those raised for milk production... otherwise, they provide milk for their young. Like any other mammal, mothers provide milk for their offspring only until they wean them for whole foods. You are talking only about profit, profit for disease and suffering of animals.
DianeDi 3 years ago
You know you do put up a good fight..But your not here on a diary farm. If an animals dies you think i dont care. It hurts ok it does, they arnt just something that makes a buck. Over 70+ of the cows in my barn are my Fav by far, And half of them arnt the show animals. There was a cow that calved early and her calve was half dead. well you should see her now, She will never make it to milking cus she just cant, But if you know this cow. you would love her. i Mean a cow at 2 yrs old. 5 foot !
oakstorm 3 years ago
I have no doubt that running a family farm is very different from a "factory farm". Personally I would fall in love with all the animals. I don't like to see animals exploited, and in all honesty, I wasn't like this until a few years ago. It's as if I could understand things from an animals perspective. Remember, they have no voice and humankind is the dominate. Animal products are also very unhealthy (I didn't believe it at first either).... so I did a lot of research.
DianeDi 3 years ago
I read many books and came to a very eye opening conclusion. The China Study was an excellent read and is the longest study ever conducted between diet and health. Now I understand why there is so much cancer, diabetes, heart disease, to name just a few.
My own father worked in a dairy and made cheese many years ago, so I do know what you are telling me. I am not attacking you, please don't think that, I'm just saying that what you see now, may not be the same way you see things later
DianeDi 3 years ago 2
After a day, the calves belive your their mother. And they are happy. They have around the clock health checks. Cus we are allways in the barn. I also show cattle. do you think that mean??? Look at my video. there is nothing wrong with it.
oakstorm 3 years ago
I would believe that the calve would think you are their mother.... no doubt in my mind.... my real concern is the mother.... what about the mother that had her baby snatched shortly after birth to become veal. I've read stories where the mother goes mad looking for their offspring, some found miles from the farm - mooing (crying) for their little one.
DianeDi 3 years ago
Yeah, very sad. I saw this on TV the other day, the poor mother went through a very painful birth, licked the baby calf clean and they just snatched it away and lead her to a barn! I couldn't believe it. How can she not be suffering? The maternal instinct is so strong, they cannot speak, but it would be very foolish to imagine the mother would not be suffering greatly from this. It really made me rethink drinking milk and I've never done that before, never viewed it as cruel.
jtking2504 2 years ago
It's not only cruel, that we know, the milk we drink is extremely unhealthy. My own doctor said that the first thing humans should give up is all dairy products. You might be interested in watching this YouTube video - watch?v=yMHvMAUDHj4
"Milk - The Deadly Poison --- Frightening"
DianeDi 2 years ago 2
Thanks DianeDi, I have decided to forgo milk wherever possible, as I cannot stand the thought of what they do to these mother cows. They apparently call out day and night for their calves. Then the cycle of suffering begins again until their bodies are so weak they cart them away to be killed! I bought rice milk and found it was delicious and even better tasting than real milk. I don't really need it & happy with the change, it's the easiest thing I've had to do!
jtking2504 2 years ago 2
Excellent choice, and if you can stay dairy free you will find many health benefits. Just browse around the website called NotMilk (dot) com - it is a wealth of information. I just wish I was lucky enough to have known everything I know now when I was much younger.
DianeDi 2 years ago 2
it does taste good though.
Dogmeister 3 years ago
But somewhere - ethics must figure into desire... there are certainly many other options that taste just as good. These are also better for your body - and certainly better for the animals.

Great video. I agree with this, and I feel so bad for the poor little calves :-(
jickajohnda 3 years ago
I have so many storie to tell you. And you still put in your thick head that im in the wrong. We had a cow go down yeah a cow jumped her, and she just sliped and really hurt her back legs. so we did everything for her. My dad bought a 7000$ Aquacow for her to be in water to get up. he had to travel all the way to the states. we sadly lost her, But thats not the point she was out side in the SUNSHINE and a cow jumped her. Her name was Jaz, She was a huge cow. As big as a bull. almost all black.
