How I think of the intro: The intro starts showing tons of people laughing at death when their lives start to suffer when they disappear. The final part where all of the people laugh while lil slugger skates through a white screen shows they were victims of the kid. Lil slugger then laughs in the end as in death wins in the end.

@chaosvictoria64 The first ten eps are supposedto be confusing. You have to watch it all the way yo the end to make sense out of it al. It's kinda like Twin Peaks, you have to watch all the way to when they solve Laura Palmer's murder for it to make sense.

The song is Yume no Shima Shinen Kouen by Susumu Hirasawa. The translation by these subbers is inaccurate - there's absolutely no reference to "the Lost Children" in the official lyric translations.

This opening is sort of like a...secret message of the show haha i can't explain it! It's meaningless but it also has meaning to the plot (even the lyrics)

@MrTheJason The shows opening depicts the atom bomb and speaks of it covertly. "The lost children are a mushroom cloud in the sky" Bomb. That's when everyone got lost after ww2. The characters in the show are all lost and Lil slugger gives them a way out, but doesn't show then a way.Maromi is kawaii culture and unresolved problems. And shone bat is fear and paranoia. Only by resolving pass issues can we eliminate fear. Hence the end of the anime. What the whole anime again with that in mind.

PA opening song and video are maybe the most misleading intro ever made. The series is dark psychological drama and crime investigation story. You don't understand the opening video until you've watched the series at least into middle episodes.

Paranoia Agent is really good anime, the op end ed videos are total opposite to the atmosphere in the episodes. Intro and outro are silly choir songs, the show is not silly and happy.

@StarlingKnight yeah I've always found the intro to have a meaning that you can't put down in words but understand what it means, and as for the ending credits, I interpret it as it have them laying around in a circle because they are all linked in the story, and when it shows that weird effect of the image splitting quickly, that is their escape from their situation. Maromi at the end shows he is a major part of why the events in the story are happening as the main cause.
