One thing everyone needs to keep in mind when watching reality shows like this. (Reguardless if they are competition shows or not) is that just because the people are real and they arent acting doesnt always mean everything u see is exactly how it happened. The people that make these shows are often paid to make a story outta these shows, they are also often paid to make each person into a character so they will often cut and edit it things to fit the story line and or the character.
