also i was thinking about buying the 1\10 scale version of this truck but i heard the stock transmitter breaks after the first few hours is this true?
this is the best looking truck in its class. by class i mean vs stampede. i have 2 stampedes and does anyone know if you can put these losi wheels on the stamped cuz i want to for scale look
Not if you set your slipper clutch correctly and use the aluminum idler gear. I have not had any drivetrain problems with this setup thus far. The main thing to remember is to set that slipper properly.
The New Dynamite Fuze systems are really nice. They're very programmable, there's a number of different motors available and they're very smooth. I have to say for a sensorless system it's about the smoothest one I've used thus far. And there's no conversion kit for that truck that I know of. The only ones I've ever seen was about 15-years ago MIP and a few others had 4WD Conversions for the old gold tub RC10.
So I have a 1 18 slider and am going with a 8200kv system with a 1650mah battery. I was wondering if i would have to purchase new gears or other parts to prevent it from breaking
Hi horizon, I have a few questions on a Brushless system for my Losi 1/10 Desert Truck. I dont want to go to fast so that I cant control it, basically what I want is 30-35 mph out of my truck, 40 would be acceptable, but thats getting a little fast for me. I also want longer run times. Im currently using a 6-cell Dynamite 4600mAh battery, What brushless system would you recommend for my truck to do those things.
You know you might want to check out the new Dynamite Fuze series of Brushless motors and ESC's. The DYN3736C is a 5800Kv motor and ESC combo that will get you some really good performance, probably over 40 but would be harder to control. Honestly the SC-Spec combo might be right up your alley, DYN3734C is the P/N. Check them both out on the Horizon Hobby website.
It's designed to mimic the speed and performance out of the Titian 12T motor that comes with the Slash but it'll work in any vehicle. I'd say it's a little quicker than a good Stock 27T motor.
How long does the Nimh 7.2v battery last? Where can I buy a lipo battery which will be suitable for this car? Also I have not been able to find an english site that sells spare parts, batteries etc, do you know of any?
Horizon Hobby's website will have everything you'll need. From hop-up parts to LiPo batteries, chargers and more. The 6-cell pack will last about 8-12 minutes depending on how you use the throttle. The Losi LOSB9868 3600mAh LiPo will work well in this truck.
Thank you for your quick reply, I have been on the UK Horizon hobby website but there is no link I can see which allows me to buy any of the spare parts, I can only see pictures of them. Can you give me a link fo where I can actually buy the spare parts for the High roller, Thanks!
That's baloney about the gear cover completely sealing the gears. I get sand in my gears all the time. I think it comes in right through the motor. I've done everything humanly possible and I still get grains jammed in the spur gear.
Sand can be a wild card, I'll admit that, simply because of the finite grains. For most pieces of debris, like rocks, leaves, grass, mud, etc this is completely sealed. If you're really having issues with sand you can use some Silicone to seal the gear cover to the motor plate, but getting back under there will be a little more difficult later.
Yes, I assumed that was the case. But whats an example of a 'low' and 'high' kV? I'm looking for a motor for a mini T. I want to use it on soft sand without burning up the motor.
I always had good luck running a Dynamite DYN3710 8000kV motor in my Mini-T. It's fast enough to be a lot of fun but not so fast as to be hard to control or hook-up.
faster than it needs to be, probably around 50 if you have some nice lipo batteries but if you just use your 3800 mah battery it probably will do like 35-40 or maybe a little less.
You guys really shouldn't have skipped the idler gear as that is the hardest thing bar none in this install. I would also recommend going with a better tx/rx. It made a world of difference because my stocker kept cutting out past 50 feet. Another necessary upgrade is the dogbones. They bend pretty quick once you start running brushless. Check out the other vids for the part numbers. Now If you really want to go crazy I added 8ight-t rear shocks all the way around for the big bore appearance.
A have a high roller and I want to put the traxxas velineon bl systium . Is the diff able to take the bl power stock ?

For the most part, yes. Your disassembly and reassembly process might be a little different but it's pretty similar.

Not without some serious modifications. The shocks will transfer over without much fuss bue everything else is totally different.
