Thank you, but the voice isn't mine, but Rosko (William Roscoe Mercer), who was a radio DJ who died in 2000. His readings of Kahlil Gibran poetry was released on an album @1967, with the musical accompaniment by "The John Berberian Ensemble". My only contribution was the visual part.
ROSCO God what voice ,he is heaven to hear,so deep in the night all alone.., Music was his voice, no other sound was needed. It enhance it,and set me alight;
It is my pleasure--I'd been wanting to do something with that audio recording for a very long time, and of course had a bit of fun trying put some images with it--I was finally reunited with an LP recording of it that I'd bought in 1967.
This is so awesome...I have carried the words of Kahlil Gibran with me for decades...and this reading, with the images adds so much flavor to the already profound and timeless words....awesome work...
A coincidence! He's also from MY planet---Earth! We love Kahlil Gibran here, too, although it seems not enough people on the planet know of him. If more people of this planet could see the world as Gibran did, we truly WOULD have HEAVEN on EARTH!
Truly majestic &the illustrations make this Arab poet's dream seem like a possible reality.Gibran's an Arab-American poet but his poetry of love & peace belongs to the world. Let's abide by his message 2 humanity especially in our direst time of need.Let's not misrepresent or misunderstand him the way we did all the prophets.He spoke 2 us all & it's no accident that he came from the East but lived in the West.If his words can't solve problems,let them make us TOLERATE each other just a bit more.

No doubt, the voice was substantial, but Gibran's message IS even more so, and Rosko was just the man to deliver it!

like smelling the perfume of too many rose...
my nose starts to ache
it is no longer pleasurable to keep my nose pressed to the petals
I can only read so many Kahlil Gibran poems...
my heart starts to throb
and it is no longer possible to deny the increase of blood flowing into the fire of my love
its no longer pleasurable to press through what should
sit with solitude as a companion

With all my love for Gibran, I still can't understand how he could call the human the cornerstone of creation.

A small conceit on which mankind has ever stumbled.

Khalil Gibran reappears about every 20 years or so. My father heard this on the radio 40 years ago and loved it. What a surprise to find it here.
