@JeTStaR1100 1.you download a character in .rar or .zip format. 2. then extract the characrter to the char folder than copy the name of the folder. 3. open the data folder, and then open up select in notepad, and than paste the name where it says ADD CHARACTER LOL. 4. Than close and save, and open up mugen, and there is your character. If this did not help LOOK IT UP ON YOUTUBE, GOOGLE, OR READ THE MANUEL!!!!!!

i give it a 5/10. because the chars are way overpowering other chars. my char is ryu and he always will be. if i fight with brolly or somother guys like "tiger somthing" they take off 50% OF MY DAMAGE !!!!!!!!WTF IS THAT AND RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MATCH!!!! brolly is infincible i can kill him. he has infinite health no matter what i do to him. so plz fix that. its anoyying playing like that. oh yea and im playing on lvl 1 easy.

yeah, your patch was sound ripped. Which means that when you exctracted to it, it didn't exctract the sound right. So if you want sound, you need to get another winmugen patch :(

@prettychuck87 I found out how to fix it :)

Open up the data folder, then open mugen.cfg in notepad.

Press Ctrl+F and type in "Sound configuration (Windows)" (Without quotes)

You should see a few options that say ";Valid values are from from 0 to 255." on top of them. Change all the values to 255 (only if they say that the valid values are from 0 to 255) Hope this helps.

MUGEN was freeware, and the company who released it got shut down years ago. They just dropped off the radar. Hackers have been passing this around for a while now, pretty sure you could even find the original DOS version if you looked hard enough. Hell, I got the MUGEN engine for free by just Googling it, and it's compatible with Win XP/2000. Now, I don't have anywhere near THAT many characters... =p

Can someone please tell me if you can get this game to start up any faster. The only way I know of how to start it is going to the Rar file and hitting the exe. file. And from there it extracts every single file and takes like a a half hour to load. PLEASE HELP.

Dud you are definitely donig something wrong-

It should start up straight away- You must extract everything thats in the rar compacted file into a folder(create a new folder called mugen and extract it into it) then you see a file thats part of all the stuff that comes from the rar, one of the files and folders will be an application called mugen or winmugen(whatever one you're using)

The rar file should never be used after you do this as all the mugen contents will be in your mugen folder
