@jp86II Fine... I'm obsessed to explain. Cloning is not creating life out of nothing. Cloning is a form of reproduction, but just in the lab, like IVF. But instead of using both sperms and egg-cells, they only use the egg-cell, but replacing the DNA with a desired DNA of a single organism. With IVF, the result will be an offspring of a combination of DNA from the two doner parents (sperm and egg-cell), where as with cloning the offspring only inhibits the DNA of one doner parent.
@jp86II So the reason why I used the planting a seed analogy is because both with cloning and with planting a seed, instead of allowing reproduction through nature, we do so artificially. I consider planting a seed 'artificial' because it requires humans to perform the planting. Trees don't plant their own seed. Similarly when humans clone animals or perform IVF, humans perform the procedures.
@jp86II Lastly, cloning is not banned. Human cloning is not banned. I'm sure that is what you meant, though.
Also, FYI, regarding creating life out of non-life, which cloning doesn't do, is actually possible in the lab. Scientist are able to create the basic building blocks of DNA out of non-life. That's is what you should refer to as playing God.

Just to let you know i showed this to my year 9 class as part of my lesson. They loved it!
The video gets a bit quiet at the end which was a shame and they were a bit confused what the point was but the rest is really useful.
