  • I imagine myself looking like Kurt Cobain when I hear this. I live in an apartment on a rainy day. At the beginning, at :30, everything is happy because I've taken a ton of heroin, and everything is so freakin' magic. Then it starts to slow down at 2:28, and I see myself falling over, stumbling and muttering incoherently. Then the song starts to get really slow at and I pass out on the floor, and when the song ends at 4:02, so do I.

  • Paul Waggoner up there with Picasso and shit! i picture a cold night too, with stars yeah stars and uhh some rain and woops I found an Indian arrowhead. I stumble into an old cabin with pioneer artifacts and no fireplace, damn i'm still cold. But it does smell like wood has been burning so wtf.

  • Only 50 000 views for this beauty?

  • honestly it's my favorite song by btbam I love every one of their songs but this just...I can't explain it it just numbs me and lets me drown everything out including emotions and have the purest form of music

  • laying on your back, staring at the darkest sky, no stars shine upon you, no moon glooms over the horizon, no sound disturbs your peace. there's no wind to caress your face, there's no warmth in yout languid body, just you, your thoughts and the smell of the grass.

  • When I hear this song, I imagine myself driving in the rain... trying to drive away from my problems.

  • Going to take a leaf out of penguinsaue87's book.

Sitting just under cover of a small cave in the midst of a cold night in a mountian range. A small fire dying to your left, and the dull lullaby of rain pouring down outside. You gaze thoughtfully into the distance; the white peaks barely discernible in the sitll moon light.

  • One of the greatest songs to listen to when u just need time to think of shit. I love it.

  • Is that the all-seeing eye at the top-right?!

  • @macigewski are you a bit paranoid? lol i believe in that stuff too, but i dont think thats the all seeing eye.

  • All you commenters are making me envision beautifulness. We have a great race on planet Earth. Destructive...but at the same time we can create the most beautiful of things...words strung together to create poetry and hands working together to create masterpieces. Together we are limitless. Embrace what we have.

  • It's as if everything you have to touch you do so with the utmost delicacy and you savor the moment as if it was the last time you ever have to touch it. Suddenly the hair on my arms seem as if they have hidden meaning in my life.

  • @BTBAM4life1 "Suddenly the hair on my arms seem as if they have hidden meaning in my life" beautiful right there, poetry it is.

  • i played this song to my friend cause i was trying to see if i could find music that could put him to sleep. knocked him right out. knocked me out too XD this song has a very relaxed feel to it

  • Medicine Wheel Into The Primer...sounds so sick.. Greatest Band

  • kinda wish btbam would do more songs like this and viridian

  • Can you guys recommend some songs similar to this?

  • @MusicDude10234 you should get the Colors EP by them...classic,

  • @MusicDude10234 Godspeed You! Black Emperor and some of the stuff off Beacons by Cloudkicker.

  • @MusicDude10234 I guess it depends on what you mean by "similar". Check out the band Porcupine Tree. If you want mellow ones with similar tone as this, check out the songs "Lips of Ashes", "Gravity Eyelids", "Prodigal", ".3" and "Heartattack in a Layby". Those are all from the same album, "In Absentia", but they have ten albums.

Also I'd recommend Opeth's "Damnation" album.

  • @Billinois78 Exactly what I would recommend too for "METAL" thats soft and ambient... Damnation is in my top 5 albums of all time...

  • 2 people have no clue what music is.

  • This song makes me thing of walking through the aftermath of the apocalypse with nothing left but rubble and orange cloudy skies and no one left in the world but me... very nice and mysterious this song is

  • @JohnnyGTR34 Nice thought...

  • i love reading the comments on this video

  • @megaslammer1 abso-fucking-lutely!

  • @penguinsauce87 If I am ever in that situation I'm playing this song because of you haha

  • When i listen to this i just picture a flythrough of the universe. soaring though several galaxies, watching stars die and be born in a matter of seconds, seeing civilizations grow and die.

  • lets soar through the universe

  • Sounds like someone's taking a shower in the background.

  • probably their best song, and one of the few i like

  • @Alejop1995

You should really hook me up with whatever you're smoking.

  • @calmsnowfall Why is it that people who do drugs can never accept that anyone who doesn't do drugs actually has the ability to use their imagination?

  • first comment - this would be good to end yoga with while cooling down breathing in and out very slowly.

second comment - my secret place is tingling.

  • @gregorydharris i agree with both of those things

  • this would be good to end yoga with while cooling down breathing in and out very slowly.

  • It's pretty sweet how this song evokes so many different emotions from so many different people.

  • I make sure I never look up to the open skies when I listen to this song. I'm afraid the immensity will swallow me somehow.

  • 2:43 Sounds sooooooooo nice. Very nice and relaxing song. Kudos BTBAM to everything you do.

  • Only 2 words: Obra Maestra

  • This song helps me look deeping into my third eye.

  • @DrinkSkateSleep

    It's also very calming

  • This song puts me in a trance. I actually spent the whole 4:23 just looking at my computer screen o.O

  • Ahhh....So relaxing. It's nice to unwind from school and work and listen to this song......

  • short, and phenomenal. these guys have vision

  • WHY MUST THIS SONG BE SHROUDED IN MYSTERY. THERES NO LIVE PERFORMANCES AND IT'S NOT EVEN IN THE OFFICIAL ALASKA BASS TAB BOOK! D:!

  • @graywolfmoon1

  • sitting back listening to this every night before bed thinking happy thoughts and my dreams i really want in my life... man this band is awsome! haha didn't believe my friend when he mentioned there was a soft side to this band... i was wrong

  • amazing(:

  • Everytime I hear this song it brings me to the verge of tears, but It's an amazingly beautiful song. It makes me think about what I've done in life, where I'm going in life, and not to take anything for granted. It's so depressing yet uplifting at the same.

  • 2 people are fucking retards.

  • YES! love this song

so glad i cover it :)

  • this is perhaps the beautifullest song ever written everything is so perfect...

i love takin a blunt to this song and just chillin

  • @83ibanez83 lol same here same here

  • this has to be the best song to listen to ever like it makes me feel so relaxed

  • This song sounds native american, i always picture ship rock (look it up) with snow during a clear night when i hear this song. Either that or stars after a rainstorm.

  • @ZombiexXxAutopilot Rly? i always see a dark night. with some rain some where in pennsalvainia, like an open meadow. but, why would u say it sounds native american? because we're so peaceful?

  • this would make some good post rock

  • 2 PEOPLE PUT THUMBS DOWN :@ :@ :@ hahaha

  • This is too amazing for words... I get chills every time I listen to this, it never fails..

  • You're just sitting in your room, staring up at the empty walls and wonder to yourself: What's my place in this house? the world? the universe? None of those questions you can answer. You come to the realization, how existential and subjective it is and smile, closing your eyes slowly and falling asleep and into a world of dreams.

  • This is music.

  • This song induces nostalgia.

  • I'm writing a book, and while listening to this song I was inspired to write one of my greatest chapters yet. This is such an amazing song

  • anyone now any songs like this?

  • @mIsErYsUnSeT000 basically all of the song by explosions in the sky

  • who ever voted thumbs down to this, is an idiot... it's absolutely amazing..

  • @straightxedge76 votin thumbs down on youtube iz srsbizns

  • wow this song reminds me of intense sex lol

  • @DDKFILMS lmao

  • its so weird i was in alaska the summer before this came out..and this song(idk if it's because the rain in the beginning) but it reminds me of a rainy day in alaska during the summer..the lush green forsests just beautiful

  • This song is beautiful.

When I hear this song, I think of laying outiside alone and watching the sky change colors and the clouds shift and form into each other, the sun peeking through tree branches. Just being alone outside with nature, watching time pass by and memories fading... this song reminds me of my lover. It is a memory of my love, and it will become one of many I have. I find it beautiful.

  • The human experience. Questions. Emotions.

  • I so need to go to Alaska and listen to this album.

  • Fucking mindblowing.

  • listen to this wehn its raining

cant think of anything that fits the mood more

  • nice....... u high two ?

  • Reminds me of venturing through space and time. Being able to travel both were good and bad. See yourself as a young kid. Then next your old with the one you love. So many feelings. Maybe if even to just be stuck out in Alaska. I love it.

  • this song reminds me of a dense forest during a light sprinkle, overcast skies, very still, running water, very reminiscent.

  • @MattM2011 just like alaska...aha

  • Being out in a dense forest during a light fall sprinkle. Seeing old ruins of miners homes, and drop-offs of concrete train-stops. There's broken glass of old soda bottles, some still in tact. They reveal a past that has long died off of morality, and bliss, as something so simple as soda had brought about summer time love memories, and parties without hazards or hate. It makes me realize that there is a creator, and we and all animals alike are loved.

  • lay off the pot brosef

  • I like it that they put this kind of songs between the nummers, most death metal (all though i prefer to call these guys the btbam genre, because i cant put a label on them) only have brutal tracks on there cds, this is a nice variation!

  • I love how you can hear the bass very distinctfully at one point in this song. I have this album and blast it. the bass is that amazing.

  • this band can do everything.

  • explosions in the sky this is

  • does sound like EITS....

  • Wow I'm not the only one that thinks this song sounds similar to some of EITS' work. I usually use this song as a comparison when I am trying to describe EITS to a BTBAM fan.

  • @indoordinosaur Yoda?

  • This may very well be the most amazing thing I have ever heard. I can't even explain it, when I listen to it my mind just stops but speeds up at the same time. It makes me almost cry.

  • Perhaps nostalgia has set in. That and hopes, and questioning of what is and what will be. It is sad to think we are a blue planet floating in nothingness - alone, questioning our origin.

  • That's very true... but I've come to think that it's no use trying to set beliefs upon certain things, because no matter the case, nothing past now is really certain.

It's interesting to wonder about it though, our origin.

  • i remember the 1st time i actually listened to this song

when i listened to 1:56 till the end, i was so relaxed. i thought i was dead, my soul in heaven

yet it made me think how i am now 19 years old, with alot of my childhood behind me

it brought me back to my memories, the good ones and bad ones

it made me pray for success in life, and another beautiful girl i can love and hold on to, since my 1st and last relationship of one year ended in a way that could have been better

    BTBAM is god lol

  • that was a little to much.

  • well i was also high lol

    i think

  • boy its ganna suck when we get older

  • Protest the hero is good but they are really nothing like BTBAM. Yes they are technical and fast but mot of their songs seem forced, dont flow quite aswell as btbam's, in my opinion.

  • Yea I don't really get why everyone compares the two bands.

  • i always had an issue with their songs. i like them alot but something just doesnt bring me back for more.

  • Driving down the highway, late at night. Rain slowly drizzling down your windsheild. You look up at the stars, contemplating where you are in the universe. Memories of your past come up, remembering how much fun you had when you were young and had no responsibilities. Life goes on, the universe continues, but never forget your days as a young buck, take it to your grave.

  • Is that your take on this song? if so, I applaud you :)

  • In a nut shell brother

  • good man

  • wow thats amazing

  • AMAZING INTERPRETATION man..

  • @fizik14 wow that was deep. (in a good way :))

  • @fizik14 dude its weird im only 15 and i get that same feeling you do

  • @fizik14 This may have been the greatest thing i have ever heard

  • @fizik14 You gave me the heaviest wave of cold chills ever

    I'm eternally grateful!

  • @fizik14 Yeah, the first time I had heard this was after I bought the album and had only gotten part-way through it before reaching my current lady's house at the time. We had an absolutely amazing night, and this song came on during the drive home (which was in the country at night, cloudy, fall, ect. BEST time of year.) and I was just like =D!

  • @fizik14 i love what you wrote you made me feel depressed and happy at the sametime

  • @fizik14 couldnt have put it any better. this song is AMAZING

  • @fizik14 So profound. I love it.

  • @fizik14 Amazing.

  • @fizik14 ive had that thought run through my head a million times as i drive! THIS IS MUSIC! the world should play this through a loud speaker! good things would happen. im so tired...

  • @fizik14 Then you hit a dear cuz you weren't watching the road!

  • so good to fall asleep to...:)

  • i bet this song is great to get high to lol

  • btw the primer is fucking amazing

  • Yeah I already know them. I have their album Fortress. They kick ass.

  • this sound like something Pink Floyd would make, me like :]

  • thank you, ive always thought some of the stuff they put together is what pink floyd would make if they had progressed to metal lol

  • i love listening to this song and drinking screwdrivers, its the perfect combo of relaxation for me :)

  • kelsey <3

  • I've heard a lot of people say that about The Primer.

what dont you like about it?

If you can get into Medicine Wheel or Lazer Speed it seems that you should be able to get into The Primer.

  • God I love how different these guys can sound, even within the same song. It's truely just amazing.

  • I think of my girlfriend each time I listen to this song. And I listen to this song alot :D. Its just relaxing and beautiful.

  • Awh, I love you, babe. I feel the same about this song. Thanks for showing me it. <3

  • aww thats cute :) unfortunately for me, i took a dump on my bedroom floor this morning :/ that'll happen tho right?

  • can i lick it up for you?

  • not if i get there first

  • aaahh I can fuck to this soothing song

  • Your right hand loves this song, too.

  • it takes getting used to, listen to the primer(this song leads to it) all bodies, remember when listtening to this band listen to the WHOLE song, thats a mistake i made before

  • actually I do listen to the primer....but only the begining...b/c its badass. I dont know if I will ever get used to that kind of music :(

  • You should at least give it a chance. Try listening to every song all the way through and see if you can't get used to it. It took some getting used to for me as well, but I finally understood it and now they're my favorite metal band.

  • crassisdead, i was the exact same way. i used to think these guys were just making noise, but now they're easily my favorite band after listening to them nonstop.

  • so true dude. i thought this album was a waste at first, but then i slowly realized that there was something more to the music than i first realized. Now i listen to it 2-3 times a day.

  • Haha The Primer is like the only song I can't get into by BTBAM.

  • Love this song. And the drum sound is killer.

  • Ahh...a great song from a great band. This song is so beautiful and calming. Good to have one melodic song to balance it all out :)

  • why don't they play it live

  • I wish they'd play this live =/

  • I really like this song =)

  • Same here, its beautiful and captivating.

  • this song is one of those songs where you just listen to it and think of the times you had in your life. such a chill song. i love it

  • haah chill ass song.. man :D

    btbam owns..

  • Great song for pot heads...

    Its awesome.

  • holy shit... it is..

  • You should also listen to the movie "Straight Into Darkness" soundtrack if your a pot head....talk about killing your self....its beautiful.

  • Man this song is so chill. I'll never forget the first time I heard this whole album. This track made me drop everything i was doing just to take it all in.

  • Yea i get that feeling too man. Great song

  • all i have to say is .... this is scrumtrelecent

  • This sounds like the OST of Kanon 2006!

  • lol it does never noticed that. My sister always plays that song and i never related the two lolz.

  • btbam

  • i love this song. anymore songs you know that sound like this?

  • Laser Speed by Between The Buried And Me
