I imagine myself looking like Kurt Cobain when I hear this. I live in an apartment on a rainy day. At the beginning, at :30, everything is happy because I've taken a ton of heroin, and everything is so freakin' magic. Then it starts to slow down at 2:28, and I see myself falling over, stumbling and muttering incoherently. Then the song starts to get really slow at and I pass out on the floor, and when the song ends at 4:02, so do I.
Paul Waggoner up there with Picasso and shit! i picture a cold night too, with stars yeah stars and uhh some rain and woops I found an Indian arrowhead. I stumble into an old cabin with pioneer artifacts and no fireplace, damn i'm still cold. But it does smell like wood has been burning so wtf.
honestly it's my favorite song by btbam I love every one of their songs but this just...I can't explain it it just numbs me and lets me drown everything out including emotions and have the purest form of music
laying on your back, staring at the darkest sky, no stars shine upon you, no moon glooms over the horizon, no sound disturbs your peace. there's no wind to caress your face, there's no warmth in yout languid body, just you, your thoughts and the smell of the grass.
Sitting just under cover of a small cave in the midst of a cold night in a mountian range. A small fire dying to your left, and the dull lullaby of rain pouring down outside. You gaze thoughtfully into the distance; the white peaks barely discernible in the sitll moon light.
All you commenters are making me envision beautifulness. We have a great race on planet Earth. Destructive...but at the same time we can create the most beautiful of things...words strung together to create poetry and hands working together to create masterpieces. Together we are limitless. Embrace what we have.
It's as if everything you have to touch you do so with the utmost delicacy and you savor the moment as if it was the last time you ever have to touch it. Suddenly the hair on my arms seem as if they have hidden meaning in my life.
i played this song to my friend cause i was trying to see if i could find music that could put him to sleep. knocked him right out. knocked me out too XD this song has a very relaxed feel to it
@MusicDude10234 I guess it depends on what you mean by "similar". Check out the band Porcupine Tree. If you want mellow ones with similar tone as this, check out the songs "Lips of Ashes", "Gravity Eyelids", "Prodigal", ".3" and "Heartattack in a Layby". Those are all from the same album, "In Absentia", but they have ten albums.
This song makes me thing of walking through the aftermath of the apocalypse with nothing left but rubble and orange cloudy skies and no one left in the world but me... very nice and mysterious this song is
When i listen to this song, I picture the future. I've had a lot of heartbreak over my time on this Earth and this song gives me hope because I know one day that it will have all been worth it. As for now I will keep travelling through life enjoying all the little things until that one magical day where i meet the one.
When i listen to this i just picture a flythrough of the universe. soaring though several galaxies, watching stars die and be born in a matter of seconds, seeing civilizations grow and die.
sitting back listening to this every night before bed thinking happy thoughts and my dreams i really want in my life... man this band is awsome! haha didn't believe my friend when he mentioned there was a soft side to this band... i was wrong
Everytime I hear this song it brings me to the verge of tears, but It's an amazingly beautiful song. It makes me think about what I've done in life, where I'm going in life, and not to take anything for granted. It's so depressing yet uplifting at the same.
This song sounds native american, i always picture ship rock (look it up) with snow during a clear night when i hear this song. Either that or stars after a rainstorm.
@ZombiexXxAutopilot Rly? i always see a dark night. with some rain some where in pennsalvainia, like an open meadow. but, why would u say it sounds native american? because we're so peaceful?
You're just sitting in your room, staring up at the empty walls and wonder to yourself: What's my place in this house? the world? the universe? None of those questions you can answer. You come to the realization, how existential and subjective it is and smile, closing your eyes slowly and falling asleep and into a world of dreams.
its so weird i was in alaska the summer before this came out..and this song(idk if it's because the rain in the beginning) but it reminds me of a rainy day in alaska during the summer..the lush green forsests just beautiful
When I hear this song, I think of laying outiside alone and watching the sky change colors and the clouds shift and form into each other, the sun peeking through tree branches. Just being alone outside with nature, watching time pass by and memories fading... this song reminds me of my lover. It is a memory of my love, and it will become one of many I have. I find it beautiful.
Reminds me of venturing through space and time. Being able to travel both were good and bad. See yourself as a young kid. Then next your old with the one you love. So many feelings. Maybe if even to just be stuck out in Alaska. I love it.
Being out in a dense forest during a light fall sprinkle. Seeing old ruins of miners homes, and drop-offs of concrete train-stops. There's broken glass of old soda bottles, some still in tact. They reveal a past that has long died off of morality, and bliss, as something so simple as soda had brought about summer time love memories, and parties without hazards or hate. It makes me realize that there is a creator, and we and all animals alike are loved.
I like it that they put this kind of songs between the nummers, most death metal (all though i prefer to call these guys the btbam genre, because i cant put a label on them) only have brutal tracks on there cds, this is a nice variation!
Wow I'm not the only one that thinks this song sounds similar to some of EITS' work. I usually use this song as a comparison when I am trying to describe EITS to a BTBAM fan.
This may very well be the most amazing thing I have ever heard. I can't even explain it, when I listen to it my mind just stops but speeds up at the same time. It makes me almost cry.
Perhaps nostalgia has set in. That and hopes, and questioning of what is and what will be. It is sad to think we are a blue planet floating in nothingness - alone, questioning our origin.
That's very true... but I've come to think that it's no use trying to set beliefs upon certain things, because no matter the case, nothing past now is really certain.
It's interesting to wonder about it though, our origin.
i remember the 1st time i actually listened to this song
when i listened to 1:56 till the end, i was so relaxed. i thought i was dead, my soul in heaven
yet it made me think how i am now 19 years old, with alot of my childhood behind me
it brought me back to my memories, the good ones and bad ones
it made me pray for success in life, and another beautiful girl i can love and hold on to, since my 1st and last relationship of one year ended in a way that could have been better
Protest the hero is good but they are really nothing like BTBAM. Yes they are technical and fast but mot of their songs seem forced, dont flow quite aswell as btbam's, in my opinion.
Driving down the highway, late at night. Rain slowly drizzling down your windsheild. You look up at the stars, contemplating where you are in the universe. Memories of your past come up, remembering how much fun you had when you were young and had no responsibilities. Life goes on, the universe continues, but never forget your days as a young buck, take it to your grave.
@fizik14 Yeah, the first time I had heard this was after I bought the album and had only gotten part-way through it before reaching my current lady's house at the time. We had an absolutely amazing night, and this song came on during the drive home (which was in the country at night, cloudy, fall, ect. BEST time of year.) and I was just like =D!
@fizik14 ive had that thought run through my head a million times as i drive! THIS IS MUSIC! the world should play this through a loud speaker! good things would happen. im so tired...

it takes getting used to, listen to the primer(this song leads to it) all bodies, remember when listtening to this band listen to the WHOLE song, thats a mistake i made before
You should at least give it a chance. Try listening to every song all the way through and see if you can't get used to it. It took some getting used to for me as well, but I finally understood it and now they're my favorite metal band.
crassisdead, i was the exact same way. i used to think these guys were just making noise, but now they're easily my favorite band after listening to them nonstop.
so true dude. i thought this album was a waste at first, but then i slowly realized that there was something more to the music than i first realized. Now i listen to it 2-3 times a day.
Man this song is so chill. I'll never forget the first time I heard this whole album. This track made me drop everything i was doing just to take it all in.

I have to agree with you, the instrumental sounds superb to me. I would not listen to it with a screamo added to it though..

Ahh...a great song from a great band. This song is so beautiful and calming. Good to have one melodic song to balance it all out :)
