did you know into the woods was originally written without the second act? they went back and added it in later. I agree i am sad they cut out that line (especially now that i am playing thernardier) but when I was Javert in les miz with CYC they were rehearsing this song and a girl rose her hand to ask a question so everyone was quiet 9the director added most of the songs back in) and asked what a queer was...it was really funny in a way.......

that's a rather dense thought. The school versions of musicals allow students to be a part of great shows like this for a more reasonable price (and in this case, while the rights to the full show aren't even available.)

It's cut out of the school version. I LOVE THAT LINE TOO. But it is just plain cut from the school edition. ugh.

I love when awesome songs lose their punch and are sacrificed at the altar of Political Correctness. Why...why...why are so many productions, mostly scholastic, missing 'Here comes a Prince. There goes a Jew. This ones a Queer. But what can you do.' This song, short as it is, is the best moment of Les Miserable. When done right, as it is here, despite the ommited lyrics, it is the comic high point. And, I believe, serves to open ones heart to the whole point of the show LOVE!

Thenardier stole the scene. I'm doing character study for Marius, and I have to say, Marius was played with a lot of reserve. I never thought of him as a reserved character.
