I overheard someone say that he thought we were seeded and are now at the seventh stage in our development as humans. Like the seventh and final design change in the type of a car. To progress the car needs a whole new reworking from the chasis up, and thats whats in store for us too. We all have to die. People always say that the Earth contains life because of its perfect conditions for life. (Oxygen supply, temperature, amount of liquid water) When I read Cosmos, it made me think of something I never thought of before. Carl said that this planet is perfect for us because we've adapted to it so well. There could be life on another totally different planet, and whoever lives there is probably saying how their planet is perfect for life, too.

yea thats how I see it too. oxygen level is actually very balanced, because a fewer percent than 21% would result in beings would not have enough energy to move around. However we would have adapted to this. If you add more percents, even moist tree would be flammable and there would be huge forrestfires. So its understandable that people might think that its finetined :)

The Drake equation seems to me mostly speculation, but neccesary to ponder nontheless. Life as we know it may spawn just as it has on Earth, as well as in many other environments we cannot predict. There could be life crawling in the cavernous recesses of a black hole for Christ's sake (hehe)... Were that the case, then life very may well flourish abundantly across the known universe.

The is no symmetrical interpretation of correctness in science. Scinece eliminated theories which are 100% false. But it continues using the ones which are not 100% correct. Science does not rely on proof science relies on disproof. There is no disproof for God's existence though it is not proved. I am not talking about Christian God when I say God.

Evolution is based on millions of peices of factual evidence, and has never disproven in over 100 years. Religion, however relies on myth and not facts.
