Thanks for this. very helpful. I was trying to do this and demonstrate but did not see the food coloring getting filtered. The output was still red. Something I am missing or can do to filter it better. Was it any specific type of food color? I bought red food color from the McCormick. Appreciate a quick response.

Most of my experiments come from science teachers I had when I was in school that I staied in touch with.

How-ever some experiments like this one came from a science fair I was at when I was in middle school. I was walking up and down the isles and I saw this but I didnt understand why somone had this set up at thier table. I asked them about it and they said "its a model of how the kidneys filter blood". So if you ever do a science fair project try this one on for size you might acctually win.
