Put a light in it and it will light up, boil water, or break the h20 apart, but in doing so, you waste more energy then you get back. you never gain energy by transfering from one source to another. the microwave generator uses more power then you can get back from the hydrogen and oxygen.
@moegreen2 You don't get the energy back with gasoline engines, either. The neat part about this guy's work is not the energy conversion efficiency, it's the dirt-cheap and abundant FUEL!
@Bucko44 Water is abundant, but not a fuel. You can never extract more energy by burning hydorogen and oxigen then it cost to split the water molecules into hydrogen and oxigen in the first place, when you use salt as a reagent.
