great game, but i am bashing square enix on the internet this weekend for makeing me fight a bunch of fuck head bosses to get my wife in the game. the could have took out some of them out the game. I like the game to be a little hard, the problem with it , that i have is it takes 4-months to get anywhere, by then i just give up i it all to together. then after about a year i get past those bosses. i AM GETING Avalon Code NEXT WEEK AND SADLY PUTTING THE GAME AWAY FOR A WHILE.

Considering how the translation/localization of IV DS was treated in Europe/US was treated, the only good way to play DQV outside of Japan may still be the translated SNES/PS2 games after the DS games release in those regions.

I am certainly sure they will release this splendid game in USA soon because almost the entire fun of Dragon Quest demanded to play it totally in DS(you know business comes first with benefit lol). If they allowed DQ IV to come out then I supposed DQ V will come out here in USA pretty soon too. Moreover, the graphics, diversity of monsters' rate and the attributes of role playing are more enjoyable and entertaining than the usual version in SNES which is certified as one of very best game of DS.

The one thing this game did really have though like you mentioned was very diversified monsters- usually they almost always have one to two types of monsters on the field in most DW or DQ games, but jeez..I've had an encounter with 4 types once!

Whether you can see yourself or not, you can still check your health and status. It also feels like you are fighting in first person.

Dragon Quest is the original name of the series. They were released here as Dragon Warrior due to legal problems. After the merge with Square, the began to release the titles with their rightful name overseas ;)
