@willytsch Also Hauptbewaffnung ist gleich, allerdings hat der Puma einen V10, der Ulan nur nen 8Zylinder. Max. Geschwindigkeit bei beiden 70km/h, Reichweite hat der Puma auch um 100 mehr (600m).
Nebenbewaffnung ist glaub ich auch gleich.
Der Ulan ist allerdings dank seiner Geringen größe und Gewicht etwas wendiger allerdings Waffentechnisch dem Puma unterlegen. Bin ich eigentlich etwas eifersüchtig aber is ja nur ein Schützenpanzer^^

man muss dazu sagen ein zug besteht normalerweise aus 4 spz je 9 mann besatzung.wir werden sehn ob das teil je nach afgha kommt......

Selbst die USA sehen mit ihren Transportkapazitäten davon ab, Panzerfahrzeuge mit der C-5 Galaxy oder C-17A Globemaster zu verlegen.

Der Puma wurde damals zusammen mit dem Österreichischen SPz Ulan entwickelt. Nur da wir, noch mehr Schnickschnack haben wollten hat bei unserem Puma die Entwicklung länger gedauert.
the norwegian cv90 are still better than the cv90 of sweden. but I heard the swedish leopards are uparmored, more than ours.
by 2016 there will be a new tank. hopefully it will be airtransportable.
but the puma offers more protection than the cv90, with its modern armor. its going to get a softkil and probably a hardkill system too, and its turret s unmanned, so there is no danger for a complement and its one large armored space.
Our army did 50% of the developing of the Boxer.. and it was beeing tested while I had my Gunner training for the leopard2a6, the boxer is a completely different vehicle.
And every Cv90 is different, our CV90's have a 35mm cannon, but we can change it in split second to 40mm.
And yes, the Swedish and Greek versions are better than your and our leopard2a6's.
And I don't agree that the puma is better protected than the Cv90, I know both systems.
well get a boxer variant with a 35mm gun part of sysfla, so dont blaber.
we have different vehicles for every service, we dont need a single one. eg we have a leo2 soon (psb3, netherlands gets too) with a bridge on the top, what cv90 doesnt got.
the greek versions are the same, the spanish are uparmoured.
and, no doubt the puma is totally everywhere better armored than the cv90. and the norwegian cv90 is better armoured than the swedish one. see my other comment

The puma is tested here, and so is the Cv90. Trust me.. the pumas armour just isn't that good. We now have the CV90 Mark 4... latest armour modules and BMS systems. In tests the CV90 was better protected, and had more firepower. THe only good thing why to choose puma is cuz parts can be changed with the Leopard2a6.
and by the way.. the Greek version of the leopard2a6 is the best Leo2 at the moment.. newest and most updated in thermal sights, Armour and power pack.
This is the new Puma variant? ^_^ Its looks reminiscent with my countries premier AIFV. But still it looks cool! Germans are so damned good in making armored vehicles! ^_^

I like it/It's better than Russian BMP 3,mainly coz of way how infantry gets out of it-trough back door,rather that semi-roof autmoatic door used in BMP 3,wich leaves soldiers vunerable when they leave the vehicle.And it has a good field of vision, too.But it's not amphibious,and not as fast as BMP 3,or Serbian M-80A,or M-88 Vidra.

Nice Schützenpanzer,but a nice anti-tank missle or direct hit from a tank can knock it out without any problem :D And IED's are taking a huge toll of armored vehicles these days,but Puma IS the best protected IFV in the World.

that can be said for nearly all APCs. The strongets APC is of Isralei design, which is a copnverted Merka tank. None of them are designed to take direct hits from AT missle or tanks. SMost even have a hard time delaing with RPG and heavier round uf 50cal and up

The reason for that is that the door should not be a weak point, also the rear should not be facing the enemy when the soldiers exit so it doesnt realy matter.
Another crew safety measure is that the main fuel tanks are placed outside of the vehicle hull itself, mounted heavily armored within the running gear carriers. There is also a collector tank within the vehicle to secure steady fuel flow which may act as a reserve tank in case of a double tank breach.
The exhausts are mixed with fresh air and vented at the rear left side. Together with a special IR-suppressing paint, this aims at reducing the thermal signature of the IFV.
The whole vehicle is protected against heavy blast mines (up to 10kg) and projectile charges from below while still retaining 450mm ground clearance. Almost all equipment within the cabin, including the seats, has no direct contact the floor, which also adds to crew and technical safety. All cabin roof hatches are of the side-slide type which make them easier to open manually, even when those hatches are obstructed by debris.
nothing superior in this IFV, it is very old design, proved to be not very safe against mines or RPG's. If u hit mine or get a RPG shot EVERYBODY inside are dead. Modern IFV's allowed troops to ride with open hatches or on top of the vehicle. Sorry, but for mine money I would ride like a Russians on top or like a US Marines with open hatches.

Das stimmt,trotzdem ist er schneller,besser gepanzert als viele andere IFV's/AIV's wie z.B. der BMP3,M2 Bradley etc
Der Puma ist die Nummer 1 wie auch viele andere Deutsche Sachen (Mercedes,Audi,Leopard2,PzH-2000.Eurofighter Typhoon,Marder,Typ210/212 etc) alles das beste der welt

I like it/It's better than Russian BMP 3,mainly coz of way how infantry gets out of it-trough back door,rather that semi-roof autmoatic door used in BMP 3,wich leaves soldiers vunerable when they leave the vehicle.And it has a good field of vision, too.But it's not amphibious,and not as fast as BMP 3,or Serbian M-80A,or M-88 Vidra.

Angenommen, unsere Jungs geraten in Kabul unter Beschuss, haben aber praktischer Weise einen Puma (vermutlich eher nicht, denn dann müsste man ja zugeben, dass das Ganze doch ein Kampfeinsatz ist) und wollen sich jetzt so schnell wie möglich ins Fahrzeuginnere zurückziehen.
Vermutlich würden sie erschossen, bevor die Heckluke offen ist, so langsam wie die sich bewegt.

Wir haben soweit ich weiß Schützenpanzer Marder in Afghanistan. Und der Schützenpanzer Puma würde die wahrscheinlich ersetzen, sofern er noch rechtzeitig indienstgestellt wird. Und die Soldaten sollen bei Beschuss net wegrennen und sich verkriechen sondern zurück schießen. Wirkung vor Deckung!!!!

bmp 3 is a typical russan product lots of firepower but no amour.
Ok with shotra and arena its not that bad for a war but in urban eariers its an easy victim for a bomb or mines. bmp 3 18.7 tones big gun.
Puma 31.45 up to 41 tones normal gun. Gues which is better protected

i preatty much know all this details ^_^ did you happen to know that the ATGM of BMP-3 can automatically overcome obstacles that can occure in the missiles way to target? ;-) Furthermore some1 that hasn t been inside an IFV would never understand the deference between an russian IFV and an US.The russian's suspension is so much more comfortable for the troops+easier for the gunner to follow moving target while IFV is moving.

The German Army doesn´t need to hide themselves.
After reunification in 1990 we didn´t use the BMP-Armoured Vehicles of the former NVA for good reasons.
Keep your stuff and be proud of it - you do not have an alternative.

that can be said for nearly all APCs. The strongets APC is of Isralei design, which is a copnverted Merka tank. None of them are designed to take direct hits from AT missle or tanks. SMost even have a hard time delaing with RPG and heavier round uf 50cal and up

In the CV90 you can feet the 3 man crew + a 8 man infantry team...or you can even have it as a medical evacuee.
The CV90 got the awesome bofors 40mm auto canon...and there is a reason why the americans buy that gun in huge numbers..

This vehicle IS NOT A TANK. This is an IFV or Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Get your facts straight. The German Army uses a TANK called the LEO 2. Perhaps you should go and educate yourself on words like "IFV", "TANK", "APC" etc before using the wrong terminology for stuff you have no clue about.

The reason for that is that the door should not be a weak point, also the rear should not be facing the enemy when the soldiers exit so it doesnt realy matter.

Another crew safety measure is that the main fuel tanks are placed outside of the vehicle hull itself, mounted heavily armored within the running gear carriers. There is also a collector tank within the vehicle to secure steady fuel flow which may act as a reserve tank in case of a double tank breach.

The whole vehicle is protected against heavy blast mines (up to 10kg) and projectile charges from below while still retaining 450mm ground clearance. Almost all equipment within the cabin, including the seats, has no direct contact the floor, which also adds to crew and technical safety. All cabin roof hatches are of the side-slide type which make them easier to open manually, even when those hatches are obstructed by debris.

nothing superior in this IFV, it is very old design, proved to be not very safe against mines or RPG's. If u hit mine or get a RPG shot EVERYBODY inside are dead. Modern IFV's allowed troops to ride with open hatches or on top of the vehicle. Sorry, but for mine money I would ride like a Russians on top or like a US Marines with open hatches.

You are talking about HMG rounds which used for support troops. most modern fights like in Yugoslavia,Somali, Afghanistan or Iraq it is small arms, RPG and mines warfare. Troops inside that kind of veh. dying not from armor penetration but from fragments of the interior of the veh. and shock waves which confined inside of the veh.
