So unless the cars were just sitting there running, this race would not have taken place. The tires are cold for Christ sakes this is not a movie for anyone but little kids. Not being able to see would be your main problem, but random debris that could potentially hit you would be a problem. Typically the airflow prevents a lot of debris from hitting the driver in the head and chest etc.
