I don't get why everybody critisizes Marco's vocals on the demos for Dark Passion Play. The songs aren't written for Marco to sing, they were written for a female vocalist with Tarja's range to sing

Marco's best efforts to demo the new songs allowed the band to progress as far as possible, without having to make the choice of a new vocalist so early, giving them a) more time to choose the best vocalist possible and b) allowed them to release the album quicker

whoever said that soft songs aren't marco's strong point, you obviously have never listened to while your lips are still red or the beginning of tides. he has an awesome voice in both soft and heavy songs.

that said, this still isn't nearly as good as the actual album version with anette, but that's pretty obvious as it was composed for female vocals backed up by an orchestra, and this is just a demo version...

And TurmionLilja is right. Not only do all parts not suit him but it seems really flat. Not just because its a demo but it's a long song. You need some sparks of interest. I think the 3 vocals/voices were neccesary.

He is Finnish and has a Finnish accent his pronounciation wont be 100% and I doubt you have better vocals then him but feel free to record yourseld singing Master Passion Greed and Bye Bye Beautifuls chorus anytime

Why would I want to sing his songs? You can't understand master passion greed anyways. Not to mention I've hated that song since I figured out what it was about. It's not the accent that's the problem. And I wouldn't doubt it. Whatever this is stupid.

I can understand pretty clearly what he's singing... You've at least got give the guy credit for being able to do soft songs like this and then go nucking futs on a song like Master Passion Greed. And I just listened to your versions of Sleepwalker and Two For Tragedy and while they are really good (especially since you're only 14!), saying you're a better singer than Marco is like saying you're a better Chuck Norris than Chuck Norris, if you catch my drift.

Yeah I know the softer songs are deinately not his forte though, you should know I never really meant that I thought I was a better Marco, I mean(In my own messed up little world) that I could probably do the ending better. But I still give him credit none the less.

So what I'm really saying is that whatever I write tends to not really mean what I want to say and doesn't make any sense.:)(Like that for example.)
