The thing I tell people when Im training them is to focus on the basics, timing, and leverage. Once you got that down you will be about to take down people regardless of size. Mike Tyson was a hard hitting fighter but when you look at his fights during his prime he used leverage to increase the power behind his punches. He didnt just swing with his shoulders but started the swing from the legs, then waist, shoulders, then arms. All in one motion. Again master the basics and always use leverage.

Obviously alot of commenters have never wrestled. Laraque despite his athleticism and size had absolutely NO wrestling skills, but GSP also has that functional strength. If any of you ever grappled with a good wrestler, they are way stronger than you would think (grip, back, forearms). This was cool to watch. Having said that, i wouldn't want to see laraque vs GSP in a hockey rink, it would be way worse than this one sided beating, on skates!

You know what? Georges LaRoque actually did very very well for a guy that does not have any type of wrestling training. I know he is an enforcer and drops the mitts on the regular, but it isn't the same. Thats on the ice throwing, generally, only one hand and holding a Jersey.
