When Lloyd came out of retirement none of the current breed of producers would return his calls. He's simply one of the best musicians on the planet and they're blowing him off.
Great video. I've never seen Lloyd on a double neck before. I guess this was before the Lloyd Greene model shobud. This a Johnny Paycheck song, right?
I wish the youth of today like me could listen to this regularly!!!!! The most amazing stuff Ive ever heard. Ever since my grandpa listens to this Ive come to love it :)
@milkymilkjugs Do what I did back in the 1970's - if its on the Jukebox in your local pub/bar, stick it on and annoy your mates! It worked for me! LOL
Charley Pride and steel guitar player Lloyd Green called the state of Mississippi home at one time or another. Charley Pride was born in Sledge, while Lloyd Green, a Mobile, AL native, called Hattiesburg home while a student at the University of Southern Mississippi.
excellent lloyd.what a class act these two are.charley and lloyd, love it.....just listen to lloyd....easy to see why he was the king of pedal steel............fantastic.
What a class act! What taste! What style! This is real country music. A shame that the word country music has been hijacked by the music industry to represent something that is not really country music.
@kcsteeler I think it started in the mid 1980's (Between 1985 and 1987) when Charley Pride was dropped from RCA by then-new head Joe Galante (who has done well with Alan Jackson and Carrie Underwood) and Columbia got rid of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash.
I call the recent country music "Barbie and Ken country" because the Powers that Be put more emphasis on looks than on talent.
Lloyd looks like a tall guy?

You can't beat Charlie Pride teamed with Lloyd Green. Check out Charlie's album, Live at Panther Hall. Amazing!

OMG how did country music go from this to Garth Brooks swinging on ropes and calling Hank Williams a drunk who can't sing?
