and let me just say everybody knows Germany, japan, and all other industrialized nation's health care is way better than the monopoly insurance here in america.
This is an issue that does not just happen to democrats by republicans and everyone. Infant mortality rates in the southern states is as high as third world countries rates of infant deaths. This shoud not happen in America.
not one? happens all the time. only difference is when it is "free" you cant even sell pies or your house to change lifestyle to buy it....all the money we give government and insurance companies for the usurpation of responsibility for "what ifs"....the average american could do what their great grandparents did....put that money in a bank account and negotiate their own way....then we wouldnt NEED any of them for anything non catastrophic. can go to your kids too instead of evaporate when dead
This Howard Dean is a lier because if you take a look at Canda and France and Germany this crap happens all the time the only thing that is different is she was still able to get help before it was to late. Just the other day a 22yr old guy died because Nation Health Care would not give him a transplant. N.H.C. does not work anywhere it has been tried. The Dems/Libs/Obama need to pull there head out of the sand and stop saling out our country. 2010 We CAN VOTE THEM OUT
The only reason we don't have an efficient, citizen-owned healthcare system in the US is because the insurance companies own congress.
They waste 20 to 50 cents of every dollar we pay in premiums on CEO salaries, corporate jets, and bureaucracy, while Medicare, a single-payer-like system, has overhead of only about 3-4%.
In other words, insurance companies take OUR MONEY and KEEP IT FOR THEMSELVES!
Why? Because they're in the profit business, not the health business.
Unions exist for their own self-preservation. They no longer have a legit purpose for the "workingman". Thjey take your dues and pay themselves very hansomly. Why does SEIU want people to vote outloud (intimidation) which is not democratic. I belonged to a union with the same rule of no private ballot. People would not stray from the others to avoid being chastised.
I wonder if anyone thinks government picks favorites when it rewards contracts?
I wonder if they will progressively get more and more expensive as the years go by. I wonder if the elimination of competition will create a monopoly? I wonder if that will raise prices? I wonder where we will turn when universal health care is in the same shape as Medicare? I wonder...?

In the civilized world, health insurance companies do not exist. In the civilized world, it is illegal to profit by denying the sick access to medical care.
The civilized world has single payer public health for all citizens.
My X's dad... prior service Army, Capt. Green Beret... was thankful that he could go to the VA and never had a complaint about it. I'm guessing you wouldn't care for a single payer system? Let me guess.... you work for an insurance company?
Sounds nice, but not really good enough. Health insurance is the problem, and only single payer can root out the problem. The only way to have everyone 'insured', is to force some to buy it. That's a non-starter if you think about it. If Amerca wants to cover everyone, then it should do so. Howard Dean's plan does not go far enough. Single payer is the only solution, period.
Over 40 million uninsured. Tens of millions more underinsured or bankrupt due to medical expenses, despite having insurance. Geez, sounds a lot like Reaganomics (economic terrorism).
Insurance companies are THE reason why health care costs are high. I'm sure it feels good for a bigot like yourself to blame non whites for it but not only is it racist, it's entirely incorrect, son.
Nice ad hominem attack. Its ok its a typical liberal tactic.
Insurance companies dont charge a lot because they feel like it. They charge a lot because hospitals charge a lot. Hospitals charge a lot because of frivolous lawsuits and illegal immigrants getting healthcare and not paying into the system.
I wouldnt expect a cult follower like you to understand but i guess ill try.
We spend far more on health care, per person, than any other country and we receive less care in return for it.
The fact that you and your party are such big fans of this system is why you're a regional party these days.
Keep pretending like immigrants and poor people are the source of all your problems. It will get more liberals elected and ensure you remain irrelevant.
Are you suggesting everyone continue to utilize emergency rooms as clinics if they can't afford health insurance? Do you realize that drives up the cost for everyone else who is carrying insurance? Who's clogging emergency rooms recently? Only well-off Americans it turns out, according to a new study published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine. ER visits have increased by 26%, but the only people who increased their share are those who make more than four times the federal poverty level.
I would add, what's more, the percent of uninsured visiting ERs stayed about the same: hovering around 15 percent. The poorest Americans' share of visits has actually declined slightly: from just more than 25 percent in 1996-97 to a shade more than 23 percent in 2003-04, the final year of the research." People (are) going to the ER because it's their last resort and the uninsured are just part of that," Ohio Hospital Association spokeswoman Tiffany Himmelreich told The Columbus Dispatch.
I am a veteran who DOES very much like the VA care we veterans receive. I have had a lot of treatments and in timely fashion. Forcing people to buy insurance, especially the people who can least afford it, is the worst possible solution. Remember, they don't have insurance because they Can't Afford It! Another reason our once mighty auto makers are going bankrupt is the huge benefits pacages for their employees--the largest of which is health insurance.
That's WHY we need the Single Payer Public Option. The ONLY group that has a problem with it are the insurance companies! Certainly all of the corrupt politicians of BOTH parties who are working for the insurance companies and not for us... It's them dang LOBBYISTS don't cha know?
Yes, he should run again.

So basically what youre saying is that everyone will suffer equally?
Geez sounds a lot like socialism.
How about attacking the real culprit of high health care costs before forcing everyone to have shitty health care?
Tort reform and illegal immigrants are THE reasons why health care costs are high.
And by the way noone goes without medical treatment.
If you walk into an emergency room you will be treated no matter what.
Socialism here we come.

Actually i suggest we follow the law and control the illegal immigrant problem and stop the stupid lawsuits.
Those are THE reasons healthcare is screwed up.
BTW well off americans with healthcare do not clog the system since they have healthcare and pay into it via taxes.
Its really not that hard to understand.
