I had the pleasure of seeing Lindisfarne in concert a few years ago and Billy Mitchell was doing the lead vocals - he sang Winter Song and I spent the whole time wishing he could sing his own composition - Turning Into Winter - it's a far superior song by about 3000 miles - come on you clever young-uns - get that up as a pressie for us old fogies
I've worn out my vinyl copy - can I ask some clever dude to get the whole album up on You Tube - I'll be forever grateful - especially Turning Into Winter which is a Billy Mitchell composition
Maddy was Wonderful....they had such a great happy, up sound--it was a great year. I was so lucky to find this LP as a cutout in a store in Houston...more needs to be put on YouTube....will work on that.
This is one of my favourite songs - and always catches me a bit by surprise when I listen to the album straight-through. I suppose I am not used to hearing Maddy Prior on just one track of an album!
I have looked for many of the songs on this lp...corny pistache, etc..I would be forever grateful if they could be posted too. I loved this lp. Thank you for this one.
I'd heard of, but never actually heard, Jack the Lad, I knew some of them were ex-Lindisfarne but didn't know what they sounded like, so ths is very interesting.

I love Jack the Lad...did then, still do. All doing various things now! They were the greatest, lovely blokes. Listen to Oakey Strike Evictions !!!
