This is strange, PSA's HDI engines are known to be the best Diesel engines on the market.

My father has a Citroën C6 with a HDI engine and never had problems with it!

@ophone77 mine too, He went from a ZX to 2 Xantias, he used to work driving a lot (+300.000km in a few years) he always talked wonders about Citroen engines and how robust his cars were.

When I see this car on the Dublin roads, it genuinely is one of the best looking cars. The Tourer version is also lovely. The saloon one came towards me yesterday and it was that dark gey colour. It is so elegant.

In it's price range this is a good looking comfortable well made car. Of course at a much higher price,Mercedes,Audi,BMW and Lexus are wonderful cars. I hired a Mercedes once and did big mileage.a magnificent car!!

The Citroen C5 would get my money. Very comfortable and well made with lots of included extras. Shares engines with the Ford Mondeo, Peugeot and Jaguar.

This car won the Irish Semprit Car of the Year 2009 in Ireland and came 2nd in Japan for Car of the Year there 2009 (A baby Toyota came first). Those were both major achievements against very large competition. I really love the looks of the Citroen C5.

It's very mucht full of buttons, you can see that as negative comment, but mostly the buttons are placed very ergonomic, so they are usefull, and easy to use!

Onboard navigation and phone work very good aswell!

For security reasons you can't adjust some options while you're driving, It is safe, but while I'm driving I'd like to test out and adjust everything possible.

Negative point is the ashtray, it's really really small, so if you're a smoker you need to clean it every day or so.

Domagoj Dukec was the main designer of the new Citroen C5. He used his experience which he gained from working at Audi for some years. It really is a beautiful car.

it's far from useless - the wheel mounted controls are always in the same place making them easier to use. I don't know how much more expensive it is to engineer a simple pass-through hub.

how is making frequently used buttons easer and safer to use equivalent to laziness? by your logic speedometer placed in an easily viewed area, or window and lock switches being easily accessible without taking your eyes of the road are "super-lazy".

its pretty much the same, the difference is, you move your arm a little bit less. If you turn on your radio, you dont stop paying attention to the road as you know where the button is, but oh, its some centimeters more away, what a disaster....

the problem is that controls on Citroen's multifunctional steering wheel are not turning together with the wheel which sometimes makes them very hard to reach

Nope. The main designer for new C5 and C5 Tourer is Domagoj Đukec. A designer from Croatia who was living in Germany, coz he worked for audi for 3 years. Now he is one of the main designers in Citroen. All of the new Citroen concepts that were seen on Paris autoshow are moslty his work.

I believed him;but alas it was wrong.Anyway I am delighted with the Croation,as it is such a beautiful car.Thanks for putting me right.I genuinely like to learn true facts.

Apparently it proved to be incredibly safe in the EU crash test. I read that not having the center of the steering wheel turning actually helps the air bag system. It is such a beautiful looking car and I found it wonderfully comfortable.Great credit to the Croatian designer!!

A 2.2 diesel would be excellent; but taxes dictate that one should go for a 2.0 diesel C5.The car looks superb in black with nice alloys.

I am in 100% agreement here, for all the Ford will probably be a good car it is after all a mass marketed sale's rep car. The Citroen I believe to be a better looking and more quirky car with more driver enjoyment, just look at the interior for a start 10 out of 10..
