I realize this is pretty old as far as videos go (2009) - but it was so helpful and simple to follow I just wanted to say "Thanks!". I've been watching tons of tutorials lately - but so many of them seem to skip over the seemingly "simpler" aspects - like adding pockets, finished bindings (for altered books), etc. - this was such a gem to run across I can't say enough good things. Thanks for your time and willingness to share these tips/tutorials with others. :) It was a GREAT help to me.
I love that tech about the paintbrush and water and distress ink!! How cool that looks!! Thank you! Plus the edges stay dark...very cool...now I have to make the measurements smaller, [and I dont do math!!] for my mini album!! Making my FIRST one for a swap !!! Thanks again...I am going to subscribe to your vids!! Pam
Hi Marion , I am guessing you r not doing any more u tube videos :(, I ALWAYS miss ur ustream Videos, is there a certain day u do them? I also watch Laura Denision and hers is on every Friday at 7pm (10pm) 4 me. i wood love to join ur class;
@booboos1972 her ustreams are on Tues @ 6:30 PST and her live with Prima shows are on Thurs same time. (her ustream is Apieceofcraft, and the prima is Prima Marketing Inc) hope this helps : )
I have a question, you mention that you score at top of your paper then u fold it down (mountain fold). However when i score on my pattern paper, the pattern paper looks like its slightly scratch, so if i fold mountain fold, it looks obvious that where i score the line is very visible on the paper as some the papers where the line is looks faded. So i try scorring lighter on the paper so it wont scratch but then the line is not so crisps. Any tips on that??
To add to Missy Pooh's comment: I too have this paper trimmer. My problem is I can't change the blade!! I went a few years without using it, so I forgot the details of changing the blades. I did, however, unscrew the little round nut, but the blade doesn't seem to want to come off with just that action... any suggestions?? Thanks, Teresa
I have a fiscars paper trimmer and it never cuts the paper straight. Your cuts are smooth clean and crisp and most importantly straight. What brand make or model is this trimmer you using?
Thank you so much for sharing this! I have learned so much from you! I talk about "Marion" so much, that everyone around me also knows who you are! LOL :-D
Massive job, I have tried so many times to sponge the edges but man what a mess. Your way seems to be so flawless will def give your way a go. Thank you so much for the tip its so much easier and for sure will be much nicer.
You just measure how big you need the pocket to be and double it, then you fold it in half. After that cut width at a half inch wider than you need and fold quarter inch flaps on each side.
She's doing really well, a little cross eyed so we're hoping she grows out of that. She's so cute though, we just can't stop kissing her. Thanks for asking!
I really hope so, it runs in both mine and my husband's family so I'm really hoping she does. I don't think I could bare her having eye surgery poor thing. A few of my family members had to and my hubby had it as a child and one eye still doesn't see too well but he's not cross eyed anymore.
