  • Oh gawd, I remember the topsy-tail craze. I think I might even have the little plastic device stashed away in a box somewhere.

  • Man, there were so many anti-drug commercials specifically for Marijuana. I'm not surprised that I smoked a ton of weed during my high school years. The irony of that is that I was in the "Say No To Drugs Club" in elementary school.

  • those "Fantastic" sets were always such a pain to put together, & not nearly as cool as they looked on TV

I remember when that "topsy tail" hairstyles were so popular. this doll helped make that trend bigger

those Secret Keepins Pups creep me out. They're eviscerated so you can store your trinkets inside them!

  • I used to Topsy Tail my hair even though I didn't have the tool to do it with. It's not that difficult to do so the tool was kind of a ripoff.

I had no idea there was a Free Willy cartoon. Mind: blown. I think 1994 was the last year I watched Saturday morning cartoons, and by then I was watching CBS exclusively. After '94 I was either sleeping in on Saturdays or watching Nickelodeon.

  • HAH! I had that "Fantastic Flower Surprise". I was finding those plastic flower pieces all over my room for YEARS. The "color changing" properties of the flowers themselves had this lovely habit of getting mottled and gross looking after a while.

Secret Keepin's pups--I ended up having to kill mine after I lost the key and couldn't recover the game boy games I'd hidden in its belly.

I was at Walmart the other day, and I saw a bunch of Lion King plushies that look just like ones shown here.

  • kid in the Drug -Free America PSA looks like Harry Potter IMHO LOL

  • What memories...

  • If you are left with only two words....Lego Mania.

  • I had the Military version of the Micro Machine van, which was obviously superior to it's civvy counterpart due to the presence of spring loaded cannons... >:D

  • Amazingly, the Hot Wheels Pipe Fight ad is narrated by Don LaFontaine. Strange to hear his voice on a toy commercial.

  • Seventeen years ago. I was seventeen. I was too old for Saturday morning cartoons, but it's amazing just how 80s the early 90s still were!

  • Awesome collection!

  • Kids like me back in the day use to wake up every Saturday morning to watch cartoon we all love. Too bad ABC doesn"t play Saturday morning cartoons anymore. :(

  • Any one else have a mom who made her a topsy tail with a wire coat hanger?

  • A Free Willy cartoon... where Willy TALKED.... *sighs* well they can't all be The Real Ghostbusters, can they?

  • When cartoons actually played on Saturday morning. *SIGH* :)

  • man i remember used to make fun of stretch armstrong's voice.. stop!!

  • I know this is going to be WEIRD but I lost my first tooth that day. How do I know? I was seven years old, it was December, and Willy Wonka was on TV.

My mind is exploding thinking about this.

  • @LoonyLuna48 That's an awesome anecdote! Thanks for sharing.

  • @LoonyLuna48

Wow you actually remember that?! :P

And FTR I was the same age too.

  • Well it's about time you found something from my generation (the mid-90s) from the Chicago area! And in beautiful quality also, considering this is a 17 y.o. tape!

    :)
