Why the hell do most people associate mushroom clouds with nuclear explosions.

Pretty much every explosion is a mushroom! Heated air from the fireball rises up in the middle, pushing the colder air (smoke) out of the way, making it seem like a growing mushroom.

Nah i'm sorry i'm calling fake on this one, there's little or no sound in the explosion which is odd, there appears to be no resulting blast wave, the ground below the explosion appears intact and finallly the quality of the actual explosion is much higher than that of the camera footage making me think that it is from stock.

First off, the plane clearly has no ordinance attached to it. It's supposed to be this way. You can't drop a 500 Lb bomb 300 feet away from a crowd of civilians, because they would all be fried. Pyrotechnics experts dig a hole and plant explosives and set them off when the aircraft is in the right position. I've seen the same exact thing but with a B-52. The bomb-bay doors weren't even open on the plane. If you thought that was a real bomb, then you deserve to be bombed yourself.

I saw a demonstration similar to this at an airshow. It's all for show, the planes are not really dropping ordnance. There's a crew of pyrotechnicians who set off relatively harmless charges on the ground as the planes fly over. It was still very impressive to watch.

If you do want to see the real thing I suggest going to armed forces day at an Army base. Everyone's arguing about the wrong thing. Cobra666Commander just means that the pyrotechnic bomb isn't a real bomb they use against other people because whatever explosive material they use is converted to a gas too slowly to produce a shockwave to kill people in a tank. This is different from a standard bomb that contains the proper explosives and set up. He used the wrong words, but this is what he meant.
