Europe supplied the Libyan government with over 400 million Euros in 2009 alone. Anything from small arms to a jet. They're the main reason Gadaffi is putting up a fight in their own war. From America, it was mostly non-lethal supplies and the money doesn't come ANYWHERE near what Europe put up.

Since the days of the Roman Empire, Europe has been interested in Libya, but now it's about oil investments (not ours) and that's what they're protecting.
