@IndigoVagrant acknowledging facts ang recognizing truth is hardly being brainwashed. Your arguments are as rediculous as your knowledge of conservatism. your pretty much saying that its fine for the left to lie or mislead the public because the right does it too. typical lefty tactic. the left considers itself the intellegencia of modern thaught. Continuously being caught in corruption and lie is profoundly unintelligent.
I love the squeals of outrage coming from the left-wing journalism establishment when the Right gives them a taste of their own hidden-camera medicine. There will be much more of this in future.
Incredibly partisan libtards have convinced themselves -- that repeating "O'keefe lies!" makes him a liar. And repeating, ad nauseum, that he edits his videos (as if every news organization, or video producer, doesn't edit their videos), and that this makes what we see happening in the videos -- somehow untrue. He provides unedited videos for people to see at his website. Repeating your bullshit doesn't change the facts. As if dressing like a pimp makes any difference.
@IndigoVagrant yes I do know the difference you condecending prick. You clearly aren't listening the words coming straight from the horse's mouth. The "professor" used the phase "kill the story." but like all propagandists you only here what you want to hear. If it goes against your philosophy you ignore it, deny it, or simply lie about it, regardless of the facts of how destructive that policy is. That is what's so pathetic about progressive lefties.
@flynstl1 He didn't "kill the story". That phrase is no where in the video. In regards to publishing research findings that are contrary to what the client wanted, he said he would "kill it". Kill the publishing that is. This is standard procedure among think tank left and right.
@IndigoVagrant Really? thats your argument? To "kill it", the publishing of said research, is the equivalent to killing the story. With no publication there is no story douche bag. No the SOP among think tanks is to "think" about effects and consequences of policy. The difference between the left and right is the right uses that research to form policy based on possitive results. the left uses research only if it reinforces their ideology and hides it if its contrary to it.
I don't think there's anything wrong with going out interviewing while drinking. That seems like a really good way to get candid info. He doesn't even have to booze them up- just show up.
Policy institutes publish findings that support their policy agenda???? Journalists drinking with people to get stories???? If any of this is news to you, how you are watching youtube from underneath a rock?
hey at least he busted some people legitimately screwing up instead of making an idiot out of himself, dressing like a pimp, and getting arrested for breaking the law trying to get dirt himself. How can O'keefe possibly try to nail anyone with a straight face with so many skeletons in his own closet? It seems pretty clear that he nailed stein and pay-for-play is never justified. The question is, would he nail a republican for the same misconduct? I'm looking at you, Rick Perry.
@halalbackgirl O'Keefe got the ball rolling on taking down ACORN with that stupid pimp costume, so I wouldn't minimize what he did there. Why do you think your last question is so important? The MSM has the republicans covered, there's no need for O'Keefe in that role. Just look at Anthony Weiner, you had right wing blogs doing MSM's job and investigating Weiner's conversations with high school and college girls and practically dragging MSM to the table to cover the story.
@longhornmed The msm being Fox, msnbc and cnn? All drivel. No investigative reporting. They just hire pundits to repeat the exact same talking points and rhetoric ad nauseum. For at least 10 years, all 3 have failed to have conversations that actually cover the breadth and depth of the issues. My last question is important because the msm does not, "have the republicans covered." NOONE in the MSM has covered ANYTHING to a degree of clarity that I expect from news sources! Very tru abt weiner tho
Sorry, I don't find any of this too 'revelatory'. I think the show producer/director needs to explain WHY it's a big deal if someone lies to a reporter. An organization caught saying it manipulates info to emphasize certain results? "Oh my!" Gee, don't we all realize this already? How can so many companies argue against climate change -- b/c they suppress science. That's the main problem with science and reporting -- it can be filtered. (Much like Youtube in fact filters truth.)
@2002lees You can't "replace" journalists, they aren't licensed. And this story, by the way, isn't about journalists, its about a policy institute. You obviously didnt understand what this video was about.

They didn't kill the research, they simply didn't publish the research. Do you not understand the difference?
This is what policy institutes and "foundations" in America do on the left and right.
@2002lees Like those at Fox? The revolution has begun but I'd be careful about which side you claim to be on. I will give Fox news some credit tho, they saw it coming. They decided to try to get in front of it by promoting the Tea Party. The Tea Party has Dick Armey's and Fox News' fingerprints all over them. If there is any part of the Tea Party that was grass roots it has long since been paved over with astroturf.
Saul Alinsky and Francis Piven never counted on truly independent journalist's use of the Internet. The look on Keefe's face when he realized he was being filmed was priceless as was his abrupt departure - he was caught on film lying.
But he does not care as he has zero sense of decency, or morality.
muckraking shit that doesn't matter? Who gives a fuck if private corporations choose not to release their studies, or if journalists booze people up? The point of journalism is to discover the truth, and if booze makes discovering that truth easier, so be it!
@1Sentient It influences policy so it DOES matter. I don't think anyone is saying that private corp should not be able to slant the facts. But it is important to show this practice to the public so they can be more aware of what goes on behind the scenes.
@MaHaRushie my father works at a company which provides a number of environmental services, often through government contracts. He was talking to me about how easy it is to take the same set of facts and stretch them this way or that to influence the interpretation by whatever agency commissioned the survey.
I still think that if you speak for a living and represent a population of people (politicians, reporters, etc.) you should be able to be prosecuted if you lie to your constituents or to the public. It's disgusting all this yellow journalism. General correctness should be just as stringent and telling lies just as offensive as 'political correctness', or lack there of, is today.
it's just hilarious that he seems to think it's corrupt for a POLICY INSTITUTE to only air research that forwards their POLICY AGENDA. It's also hilarious that he somehow implies that it's wrong to have drinks with sources. This O'Keefe guy goes and "finds corruption"? @IndigoVagrant : never said "replace" journalists or that they are licensed. And I know what the video is about. Perhaps you should re-read the comment with some reading glasses. I am talking in general about the "state of Journalism" today. It has been documented very well how liberal journalists have become unoffical press secretaries for Obumbles and the Dem Party and how they are shielding them from receiving "bad Press". Perhaps you are the one who is very confused.
@IndigoVagrant Europe? dont give a shit about freaking Europe. they are mostly liberal over there as well. The majority of all MEDIA is liberal. why is that such a hard concept for you?
Great video. Should remind people to review past lib journalists indescretions with bias and misinformation ... ie the "Journolist" story from the Daily Caller.
It's no surprise that Sam Stein is an agenda driven hack, but people need to follow up on that crooked professor. And how many other professors are identical to this guy? A great many, I'm sure.
@klrdotorg You can't "replace" journalists, they aren't licensed. And this story, by the way, isn't about journalists, its about a policy institute. You obviously didnt understand what this video was about.
It's a policy institution, not a college, news wire, or news outlet,

This is what policy institutes and "foundations" in America do on the left and right.
There is a large bug up your ass. You can leave it there, and remain an asshole ... or remove it. Spamming several different posts with the same reply is pretty weak, and useless. The professor was caught red-handed lying, and Stein is a biased hack. That's what I said.
I didn't say anything about "licensing" or "replacing" journalists. Congrats on the worthless posts.
@klrdotorg You don't understand what policy institutes and think tanks do obviously. This is standard in the field, and the ultra right does the same thing.
Yeah ... I got it. I got it before you said it, and I got it each time you said it. He's a political hack - who was caught lying. If he wants to be a paid hack - who buries the truth to promote his political bias -- then he should work for a policy institute full time. If he wants to be an "academic", and teach students, then he should act like one. The truth does matter.
But it's reasonable that if you pay for a study, you can decide not to publish it. It's always been that way. It's the same as if you performed the study yourself, you don't have to publish it.
But yes, that means that all studies that are subject to chance (any that have under 2,000 participants) are flawed because we don't know how many tries it took to get the results they wanted.
Love this one. But it begs a certain question: Did the EPI produce a study with pro-communal results or is this just speculative hearsay? Because I don't see a case where an economic study would prove large union activity functional economically. So the 'fictitious' study would never have been killed.
I didn't realize there was any journalism in the mainstream. I think calling them journalist isn't an accurate portrayal. You can't be biased and be called a journalist. It's not debatable.
Interesting story James! I think UnitDave said it best, you're the MSM's worst nightmare. Truth!
@toddweller You can't "replace" journalists, they aren't licensed. And this story, by the way, isn't about journalists, its about a policy institute. You obviously didnt understand what this video was about.

This is what policy institutes and "foundations" in America do on the left and right.

@uzimodem Look at Europe, that's how a lot of the press works. They work for political parties because corporations control both political parties.
They are called "Talking Heads" for a reason. There are liberal, religious, and right wing ones.
IndigoVagrant 4 months ago

@IndigoVagrant

@IndigoVagrant
Yeah ...

Truth!

Great work again. After doing work in support of SB 5 I can't say I'm shocked that certain groups would take payoffs to hide info. Keep it up and bury these fools.
