And if your router is broken, you can use your PC. The PC boots from bios, and Bios Boots to the bootloader in your OS. Then, it starts up.

That doesn't look too bad at all. Google definitely has the right idea that people will be storing their personal files on servers, instead of local hard drives. The idea of being able to walk up to any computer running Chrome, type in your user name and p/w, and it's YOUR computer is pretty amazing.

Its open source so you can't rip it off. If you give the prior creators credit its free to distribute however you want. It says right on Ubuntu's website. They strongly encourage distributing their product and changing it.

The operating systems are requiring higher and better performance, and computers are less expensive than before.

@optmusprime5 Chrome OS seems to cause a fallback in technology development, because we dont need a state-of-the-art computer to run such a light weight operating system. I believe that Google will find some ways to consume those unused hardware resources, but thatll never be a good case.

AFAIK Linux netbooks proving a difficult sell and are been returned, simply because it's not Windows.

From my own experience, netbooks are just as reliable as any other type of laptop.

Also it's very important to backup your work, 120 pages of research or whatever, both locally AND in a remote location, say on the cloud.
