I don't understand something. They say that dolphins need to be protected, but what about other animals? They say that pigs, chickens and cows are born to be eaten, but what about the dolphins? They say that dolphins are intelligent and cute. What about other animals? Isn't the cow intelligent too? Its just stupid in my opinion. I wish they never made this movie. They are just telling other people to change when they should change themself. That's my opinion. Approve it or not, its your problem.

i got this movie the second i found it. its really sad, i swear im not the type to cry but by the end i was nearly tearing up. but at the same time i was inspired to help and do something like what they did to expose what they were doing to the dolphins if it ever happens in my country and i know about it. i wanna be apart of it.

No pun intended, but it comes as no surprise that the mortality of Taijin is particularly high compared to surrounding regions. Take sometime to understand the issues presented in "the cove". You will also see Japanese people helping Ric O'Barry and the crew as translators and don't say they did it for the money. They did it because they came face to face with the bigger picture.

@chrysan6128 have you forgotten about the mercury poisoning? The issue of contaminated meat may have started only in the last century but its going to stay around for a while. Due to bioaccumilation its a bad idea to eat meat of any apex predator especially marine. In plain english, its not healthy to eat dolphin meat. They may have stepped on some toes but their aim was never to get an Oscar. They wanted to investigate and bring to the light what the rest of the world wasn't allowed to see.

The people in defense of killing dolphins always use the excuse: "You eat cows why cant we eat dolphins?" Here's why not: We breed cows domestically, then slaughter them senselessly ( I am a vegetarian so I agree that the cow and chicken and pig slaughter needs to stop) but we don't go out into the wild and ruin the environment, making it so that no cows remain in the wild. We do need to stop slaughtering cows, but we also need to stop killing off our environment by slaughtering dolphins.

Before bashing Japan, why don't you strongly oppose to killing and eating cows?
Japanese didn't eat any mammals with 4 legs before Japan was forced to open its ports top America because America needed to ports for whaling to get just oil of whales.

Whales are animals. As long as they are not threatened, we should be allowed to eat them. Let's stop this nonsense and focus on important environmental issues.

I hate the white standard. You cannot kill whites but you can kill middle eastern like Iraqi. You cannot kill dolphins but you can kill cows. it is just white standard. don't make others justify your standard.

A so called "Democracy" But where is my say? ...Everyone should become vegan since Humans don't have the sense to kill humanely, or in controlled numbers. They are basically deleting the dolphins/eliminating them from the food chain. Which will throws every ecosystem out of order.

Japanese people don't like to eat dolphins. Dolphins meat is sold as whale meat.
Dolphin meat has hi level of mercury in it and is not suitable for human consumption.Japanese people are being cheated!

Because they Japanese think so and fairly see other creatures, not only whales. btw your point against whaling (dolphin is whale) is if he/she is intellegent and similar to human being? you worship whales and they Japanese eat them. that's all. whales are not your pets. wild lives, who is surviving between death and life.

Japanese see this movie as a issue of food which I take lives from other creatures. they re-think about this point that our life depends on it much. not only issue about whales (dolphin is whale), but every creature. as regarding this point, this movie campaign sounds the denying diversity and difference of human life style. Or just whale lovers' pv as the petting.
