I remember in 1978 ( 6 years old ) when i got this. My mom didn't want me to have it. My parents weren't uptight or religious , they just thought it was a bit much for a 6 yr old. So, my grandma gives me an early Christmas present of $10 in a card. So i asked my mom " can i buy anything with this ? " " yes " " ANYTHING ? " yes. Ok, im buying that Kiss record. She could have said no. But she gave in. I only wonder what they were thinking when they heard this intro coming from behind my door :o

I loved it how Gene Simmons made fun of religious groups unsuccessfully trying to get their concerts stopped by sustaining they were "Knights is Satan's Service", by coming up with songs like this one, probably the KISS song with the most "satanic" beginning ever. "God of Thunder" and "Unholy" (many years later) are other examples of those oh-so-satanic KISS tracks.

@JayHawk050698 actually gene and paul were the only jewish members in 1978. the only other jewish member of kiss was bruce kulick, but he joined in 85. peter was catholic, and i think ace is buddhist nowadays

Actually, and yes I know this is weird, I played this backwards on a turntable years ago. SOMECHU or SOMEJEW, is actually "We Must, we must confess".Anyone that knows a thing about studio recording can tell that it was purposely recorded backwards. No kidding.

@592220 I've never even thought of it sounding like "some Jew" but you're right...it does sound like that. It's funny you wrote about the prelude part. Janice Ian's part is her singing like an angel chorus: "Hosanna! Hosanna!" Does it sound like that to anyone else??? In I WANT YOU it sounds like Paul's singing "I'M A JEW!" Since he is Jewish, I think it's cute.
