What it boils down to is merely a difference in names. Covers and remixes, are, for all intents and purposes, the same thing, just usually applied to different genres.

A remix is usually done of a non-electronica song, to make it into one. Covers are usually done in whatever style the song original was.

Is this really a remix?

A remix takes elements and parts from the original song and add new sounds and instrument to make a new version of the song.

This seams more like a cover, since nothing from the original tracks are present.

@tomasahlin I think the distinction between remix and cover you speak of has extended from excessively lazy musicians putting out "remixes" of tracks that actually don't do anything with the piece. Dubmood, in this case, like you suggest, has done a little more (although arguably he's only used a very small amount of music - but he's done a lot with it).

IMO the true difference between cover and remix is superficial. You see plenty of "covers" that are carbon copies of the original too.
