Hey I just started surfing. I'm actually goin to Topsail tomorrow to try out the surf. I really like this video. Partly because I can learn from it, and partly cause its awesome to see some sweet local surfing. Inspirational stuff. I'm still extremely novice

rimshot ive lived in topsail for 15 years and have been surfing there for eight uhm depending on your weight and size really depends on what size short board you need. Of course since we are on the east coast and theres alot of slob waves mushy stuff of course what ever you get your gonna need a wide board with fat rails you dont want a potato chip lol. im 5'11 and 155pounds and ride a 6'3 my pops is 6'1 190 and rides 6'8 to 7'0 so size is your concern with a board.

hey guys i need some advice on buying my first shortboard,

so ive bin surfing for bout 2 years on a 7'9'' minimal, and im getting pretty pissed of coz its slow and hard to turn,

im gonna buy a shortboard, so should i buy a 6'10'' thruster or a bigger 7'0 or maybe 7'2''?

It really depends on how much more you really want to turn, but somewhere between 6'8" and 7'0 should work = D

im 13 and i havent been surfing for that long , i started on a 6'1 and it goes al right

and im 65kg it goes pretty good in waves over 2 foot +

yeha we dont like tourist. we dont like newbies to the enviorment cuz damn tourist like to leave trash on the beach, and i hate that, if i could ide fine everyone 500 dollars for every peice of trash on the beach, i may just be a surfer, but we gota take care of the beach, and i dont like tourist either, idk why, i just dont, ive lived here my whole life and i just dont like people coming here acting like they own the area, i hate tourist

I was at Surf City last weekend took my very first surf lesson i wiped out about a hundred times even smashed my head in the swallow shore water i am total crap at it but it was the best fun ever cant wait to do it next weekend all over again

this is some SICK footage! I surf at topsail, and it's not too much that you get swells like that at there. I'm just stoked knowing waves like that were actually at topsail! (even though it happens whenever a hurricane comes by) keep up the good work!
