I was getting my first phone and I really wanted a droid. But since it was my first phone, it had to be something crappy until i could prove that I was responsible with one. So i had an env2 for a few months, and I finally had the opportunity to get a droid but i was only able to get the eris, which SUCKS. I had to turn that back in for a blackberry bold 9650 wich is pretty good but I still want that droid and I am about to be able to get it! So happy.

From my experience i charge the battery about every other day. Not too bad. People just forget to clear their running apps because android has multitasking, but their are free apps to download and give the ability to 2 touch stop all apps that are running. Anyone who struggles with the battery just really doesn't know how to use the phone efficiently.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago and it's simply awesome. Nothing on this phone takes more than 5 seconds to load. Really fun and convenient apps that even the iPhone doesn't have!

my contract isnt up for renewal until the next gen iphone launches in the summer so this isnt really important to me right now but im glad to see the droid platform beginning to develop, could cause me to think twice about a third iphone come the time. Seamless experience with iTunes might keep me on an iphone though and palm could easily tempt me aswell. Apple arnt getting off easy with my money next time

One thing that was left out is that the android OS 2.0 does not work well with MS Exchange. While it is possible to get email on the droid from MS Exchange, the security settings on the Exchange server must be very lax for it to work properly. I'm sure this will be addressed with an upgrade at some point, so if you are planning on using your droid with an exchange server, make sure you can get email before you leave the store.

I have owned the Droid for about a week and it is an excellent device. I also own Apple products an iMac, iPod Touch and an iPod Classic and this device is just as good as any Apple product. The design is defiantly Motorola with a more industrial squared off look, but it's very well built and feels very solid. I wish the physical keys had a little more "bump" to them, but I have adjusted to the keyboard. The touchscreen works very well and the display makes my iTouch look faded out.

I checked it out, there's a basic $40 plan, a $60 plan with a bit more, $80 plan that has unlimited texting but it charges for internet, and $100 plan that has unlimited on everything plus the navigation. Possibly some hidden fees too im not sure about that.

Android apps save their data onto the memory card! Yes that's right. Only the apps executable gets saved on the internal memory and those executables are typically only kbs in size. You can fit many hundreds of apps on it. It was done purposefully that way for anti-piracy reasons.

great review. Just wondering how you compare this to the pre. I just feel like iphone will always be the market leader for smartphones. There was a lot of hype for the pre, and in reality, I haven't seen too much of the pre around or Palm really breaking records with their new phone.

iPhone on the other hand I just see everywhere.
