@ustvar Cotton may be boring, but you are always able to add your own style to it. As for lycra fabric, it's a very comfortable fabric and it is stretchy! It is thin, durable, and breaths. Great for rave pants since you will be moving around so much! ^_^ They make cotton lycra mix fabrics too.

A note if you're trying to sew the pants with a machine. She has a serger that binds the edges as she sews. If you don't have a serger and have a domestic machine that's usually bigger, you'll want to sew the seam just like she does but when you're done open the flaps and sew them down as if your making two-four more seams. It helps to reinforce them and keep them from splitting as well as giving a detail on the outside.

Keep in mind that every good seamstress failed more than once.

What kind of fabric did you use? What do you think is the best cotton/poly (or other) that would stand up to wear and tear in clubs and also not heat up a lot. I have a pair of UFOs, and the first thing I noticed was how thin and light the fabric is, and it feels a little like vinyl blend, like a windbreaker almost. Wondering if there's a reason for that or if it's just personal preference.

Best way to do anything if you just have a domestic sewing machine, zigzag stitch over the edges to lock loose threads and prevent fraying. Then use a straight stitch for the seams.
