I'm not just pro-choice, but pro-abortion in the sense that in some cases, abortion should be mandatory. So, yes, in my mind if the parents found out in the first trimester that this baby was that deformed, I think they should of been urged to abort. In the first trimester, the fetus does not feel pain, so it is the most humane thing to do. Why let a child suffer in pain?

I hate to say it, but...yes. I feel sorry for all babies born with deformities. Do you really think babies that are born like that will have a happy life? People can be cruel. why put the child through all that because you want to be a mommy?
Actually since the fetus can feel the "procedure" I would guess that dying outside of the womb was waaaay more comfortable than being dismembered or having a knife jabbed into it's brain. Also, the mother was able to hold her child/children for a time before they past on. It is insensitive to assume that abortion would have been more pleasant for both parties.
There are many types of conjoined twins who can survive, the ones that share a heart and a spinal cord usually do not. I say if it is a case where the baby will not survive outside the womb, it is a tough call. If it is in the last trimester, definately no.

Just because you may think that it would "suffer" by being born and dying so soon after , it would suffer just as much being ripped apart before it even got a chance to breathe its' first breath. To those that Preach Pro Life - please tell me who cares for the child once it is no longer a baby? Who wants a child who is 4 or older? If you honestly say that every child has the right to be born then you MUST take care of each and every child YOU wanted to be alive and here. I don't think the question of abortion can be answered on any but an individual scale, but I think it's interesting that the people who argue against abortion are often the same people who argue against homosexuality.

I think the error of your opinion begins when you use the phrase "end the suffering before it had begun". Once this child was conceived, the potential for suffering was already there. Even women who have early miscarriages suffer. An aborted baby suffers, a fetus can feel pain. It's painful for the mother, both physically and emotionally. Having a baby die after birth is too. If they had made it, they probably would have done great. I have seen some people on tv that have had two heads. It is rare, but given the chance they do fine. I think the mom did make the right decision in giving them a chance and not aborting them. If I were going to have a child with a disability or rare case, I'd give them a chance too. I have friends who knew their child was going to be disabled. They've never regret giveing their child life, instead of abortion.
They were twins, not a "two headed baby." Two heads means two brains, which means two individual people sharing the rest of their body. And they were beautiful and their lives had meaning, just like everyone else's. And instead of, having their little bodies ripped apart while they lived, their mother gave them the opportunity to live and fight and be loved and held and cherished. If they had lived, their lives would be different from yours, but that doesn't mean it would be "untenable."

By the assumption in your question that an abortion would ELIMINATE the suffering of the child and family is completely wrong. All that you must do is ask a woman who has had an abortion about the haunting grief and guilt that follows them the rest of their lives to know that it is not what is best for the mother. And she does not understand why she feels this way when she was told that it was only tissue. The baby can feel pain, and would not be best served by being murdered.

Who to say these BOYS wouldn't have made it after birth? I'm not just pro-choice, but pro-abortion in the sense that in some cases, abortion should be mandatory. So, yes, in my mind if the parents found out in the first trimester that this baby was that deformed, I think they should of been urged to abort. In the first trimester, the fetus does not feel pain, so it is the most humane thing to do. Why let a child suffer in pain?

Actually since the fetus can feel the "procedure" I would guess that dying outside of the womb was waaaay more comfortable than being dismembered or having a knife jabbed into it's brain. Also, the mother was able to hold her child/children for a time before they past on. It is insensitive to assume that abortion would have been more pleasant for both parties.

I don't think the question of abortion can be answered on any but an individual scale, but I think it's interesting that the people who argue against abortion are often the same people who argue against homosexuality.
They argue that homosexuals are "abominations", which implies that they are malformed and thus deserving of death.
There is no question that a two-headed baby is "unnatural", and clearly not created in the God's image.

I think the error of your opinion begins when you use the phrase "end the suffering before it had begun". Once this child was conceived, the potential for suffering was already there. If they had made it, they probably would have done great. I have seen some people on tv that have had two heads. It is rare, but given the chance they do fine. I think the mom did make the right decision in giving them a chance and not aborting them. If I were going to have a child with a disability or rare case, I'd give them a chance too. I have friends who knew their child was going to be disabled. They've never regret giveing their child life, instead of abortion.

And they were beautiful and their lives had meaning, just like everyone else's. And instead of, having their little bodies ripped apart while they lived, their mother gave them the opportunity to live and fight and be loved and held and cherished. By the assumption in your question that an abortion would ELIMINATE the suffering of the child and family is completely wrong. All that you must do is ask a woman who has had an abortion about the haunting grief and guilt that follows them the rest of their lives to know that it is not what is best for the mother. And she does not understand why she feels this way when she was told that it was only tissue. The baby can feel pain, and would not be best served by being murdered.

Most people like living so I would never assume it was to everyone's benefit for someone not to live.
I don't think I would enjoy living deformed very much, but the alternative to living is far too uneventful.
So in that sense, I would say that anyone capable of living should at least be allowed to take life for a test drive.
Assuming death is very much like before you were born, you won't get to take any life experiences with you, and that includes suffering.

There is no way to prevent the suffering the family will go through. It was highly likely that their child would die and they would suffer grief. Abortion doesn't prevent that it guarantees it. I actually do volunteer work for many different things and have worked with siamese twins before and the words that they said to me were "We just wanna be normal". There words, not mine. Normal doesn't really have a definition.
