  • I'm not the big fan of udu but this is just...awesome.

  • This sounds like what digestion feels like.

  • He should try an indian tabla! it sounds almost same! and hi's just awesome!!!!!

  • pretty good.

  • Is this the new Will Ferrell movie?

  • Well I could have used without the background BS. I'm most impressed that you can sit Indian fashion that long. But you are by far the best the clay pot player I seen.

  • hey just uploaded a video of myself playing a tank drum, please watch!!

  • @macmorrisonguitar scusami, ma stai dicendo un'assurdità... :)

  • @Animarossoblu no comprendo

  • @macmorrisonguitar sorry, I've replied to the wrong person ;)

  • AWESOME!!!

  • good stuff, but the weird space alien noises kill it.

  • does anybody know if hes using the Udu LP claytone #3 or #4

  • This is incredible, but can you please put out a version without those weird slurping and dripping noises? Like seriously, what are those even doing there? They dont match the mood and it makes me embarrassed to show this to my friends. Let me know when a clean version comes out!

  • @TheElroy200 LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Buenisimo

  • Who would've thought a bunch of weird looking clay pots and vases could make such amazing sounds? Marco''s got quite a sense of rhythm, it's interesting how the tempo shifts so smoothly and yet the music still sounds very fluid.

  • excellent

  • Udu drum

  • What's the name of this instrument?

  • the weird sounds of a cave are ruinning the performance!!!

  • sr marcos no es hipnotic es subliminal ,su performance val la pena grabarlo con guturales, konga, djembe y flauta,de seguro crea dimensiones de belleza.

  • @markthehippie1 your comment make you sound really unsmart

  • Air Tablas

  • Ive been playing congos, bongs and now djembe since a long time. Just love precurssion and drumming world. These are very ancient drums from africa (nigeria) later used by latin music as well great artistry and great drumming i salute such artists all must watch

  • this man is a pioneer of percussion.

  • i think he meant this watch?v=JPAznGcX0L0

  • @numanuma20 I don't know what kind of percussionist you are if you DON'T call this music...

  • @SigiL2 If you don't call this music, then you must be a redneck

  • @numanuma20: I like udu drums (which you mistakingly call "pots") but this particular video is really boring. To me, anyway. I had to stop watching it because it was making me fall asleep. He is a good percussionist, though.

  • the feeling same in ancient egypt market.

  • wenisimoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you know the name of those mics used?

  • @fabiobegro AKG C414, tasty!

  • which kind of microphone can i put into the little hole of this lp UDU´s ????

  • AWESOME! I'm have to find a set of these to play on!

  • Great playing! The stereo mix seems a little strange though, since the panning is from the drummer's perspective, and most of the shots are opposite that.

  • This music gives me so much energy. He is AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing!:)

  • What's the difference between Udu and Ibo?

  • @Mewsinghan udu means pottery in the nigerian language of ibo

  • @Mewsinghan There really isn't a difference technically between Ibo and Udu. The Udu originates from Nigeria where the word "Udu" translates to "pot." Traditionally, the Udu was used as a means for transporting water before it was discovered as a musical instrument.

In regards as to where Ibo comes from (as Meinl calls it), the Igbo people of Nigeria are most likely responsible discovering water pots as instruments, and that could be where Meinl draws that name from.

  • 3:18 jizz in ma pants!

  • how is this on the music sheet?

  • good playing

  • Amazing!

  • Hello @mangorockfish1.My percussion set up is for right handed playing.

    Thanks to write me, ciao

    Marco

  • this is amazing!!

  • hello Marco, great playing. Are your drums set up for left handed playing?

  • Hello Marco, are your udus set for left handed playing?

  • que bueno!!!! seria lindo q este tipo de arte tuviera mas difusion!!

  • Great sounds. Do you have any internal mics, or are you just using the ones on the boom stands?

  • LSD

  • O_O epic! I think I want an udo drum! It's funny that imma drummer of 3 years and ive never even heard of these :P i feel so left out now lol

  • Its a good thing i have sub woofers for my comp speakers... Or the udu and I wouldnt have had love at first sight

  • This reminds me of the Act three music from Diablo 3

  • Comment removed

  • @SteampunkPagan you mean diablo 2

  • @SteampunkPagan there is no diablo 3...

  • News form Udu spaceship..."udu voodoo" on youtube

  • Hi @GatoreIsNotJuice, just for information the sounds you listen in background are all acoustic, recorded by me years ago for a different project. However I'm agree with you, the Udu sound is fantastic without any addiction!! Thanks for your comment, ciao Marco Fadda

  • please get those artifiial electronic whooshing and dripping sounds out of there. the udu sound majestic enough by itself, this is amazing

  • affascinante

  • udu tarang!!!!!

  • That was quite awesome, I bet if he is a tabla player, he'd be great too.

I should price one of these out. Udu drums look interesting.

  • @justinc18 Seems to me, although from very little experience, that many udu players use the tablas "phrasing" and techniques. I guess, because india has great rythm and if you're in to percussion it will interest you sooner or later.

  • @hornetpalooza yes indian rythms and middle eastern and Africano rythms all can combine!..the udu is amazing it breaks through all worlds.

  • Awesome udu work!!!! inspiring!

  • Awesome! really powerfull sound

    Thank you!

  • Now that is cool

  • This guy is Lebonese and incorperates his ethnic flavor very well into a wonderful groove. I can't stop watching it over and over.

  • I JUST MADE MY OWN UDU DRUM!! i want to become as good as that guy.

  • Rilassante

  • Bravo Bravo

  • excelente!

  • wonderful!..he's made it sound like an Indian instrument, using tabla technique...but of course its originally an Igbo instrument from East Nigeria

  • That's the best! And you're using all 3 LP peices. Do you have a CD/DVD?

  • Das ist ein Musiker vom Feinsten

  • he is very good, but what he plays sounds little bit disparate to me

  • @tenacious0d - I think he might be recording a track so we cannot hear the rest of the music he's playing to.

  • Nice dude! Very well played!!

  • ciao!

    grazie.

  • holy shit that sounds cool

  • muy gueno.......................felicitaciones

  • Thats straight Gangsta !!!

  • enjoyed it!

  • ive only ever seen regular vase shaped ones in music sops, never these crazy shaped ones, they make wicked tonal variations

  • THE BEST!

  • Just Just beautiful

  • Most excellent

  • Excellent! Love it.

  • I think these are far more complex than they look and sound.. the ancient time signatures that classical composers only dream of are what are played on these... they are brilliant, indigenous and anyone who masters them are probably musically and maybe mathematically brilliant in a sense.

  • @morningofmagicians Check out some of my udu videos. I try to take them to the next level with feedback and effects!

  • @morningofmagicians indigenous to what continent ?

  • @GingerGarlicOnion African (Nigeria)

  • are they fun and easy to play?

  • @slashmaster14

in a way they are boring..but once u find the trick to them they can be a bit fun.

Now u wanna see sumthing fun?? look for hang drum

  • this is so much older than our "strings"... so... can we just shut up and enjoy?

  • bakaaa... your comment has so much ignorance in it....

  • @yosoyaventura I feel sorry for you.

  • i love udu's

  • Evidentemente Un Percussionista Di Tablas Indiane

  • His technique and rhythm are down but his ear for melody and tones needs work. The tones are flat. This is a bass instrument, though a drum it's use and theory is the same as a double bass, bass guitar and conga drums.

I like his technique though, just the notes need work.

  • fuck that man, are you joking? this is nothing like a double bass. congas, sort of. totally different originating cullture, and completely different intended sound. it's only the same in that different drums have different pitches. out of double bass, bass guitar, and congas, none of those ever carry the melody. bass guitar comes the closest just by not being a solely rhythmic instrument. saying his ear for tones was bad is fine, but you should have stopped there. you sound like a dumbass.

  • The dumb ass is the one who makes up words that were never used like you, BITCH. I said the theory is the same not the instrument, why don't you pay atention to what you read befor you say anything.

Congas are melodic istruments that's why they are ether played individually by mustiple drummers or in a set fo 2 or more by a single drummer. The same gos for the bougarabou, doon doon, and kpanlogo. Thees drums are not western tom toms. Thay are for rythm but also for the bass melody. Dumb ass.

  • @TriangleWitch My Udu's bass not is a natural A, and the closed hole not seems to be a D. I like to use these melodically. Agreed! However, out of all the Udus I have played, I also have to say i like the LP the least. They are overpriced clay pots with an LP stamp. While the Udongo is a neat idea, it falls over and won't stay in place and is very difficult to hold in ones lap.

  • I mean multiple drummers

  • But this gos for the udu drum too.

  • I also am a conguero, so I know what congas sounds like. And they are tuned to a note. Which one depends on the size of the drum and the key of the song you are playing to.

  • Wow TriangleWitch looks like unclewedgie200 certainly hit the right tone with you...you went off big time, congratulations. Liked your content but your phrasing needs some work..

  • Phrasing varies depending on the dialect.

  • ma che strumeni sono????complimenti sei un grande

  • Amazing!

  • This is fantastic! :D Lovely sound!

  • Thank you!

  • fantastic sound. Just fantastic.

  • pretty awesome! first time i see but i love the sound! Would be cool to use it with some funk sort of sound :D

  • those are some great techniques. thanks for the influence. i wish i had ur udu set up though! i am still waiting on my Udu to make it through the Kiln! i cant wait

  • I like making udus, but after seeing this I guess it's time to try and make one of those two chamberd udus.

  • that midle udu looks crazy hot wold love soe of that

    :P

  • what kind is that one in the middle?

  • Hadgini I think.

  • Udongo actually.

  • molto bene - very good sound - nice to meet you - LP Udu the best

  • Amazing... and great sound quality! Which microphones did you use?

Great playing and I love the sound of the LP Udus, I have an Hadgini :)

  • my first time seeing this type of instrument, it's very interesting, great work

  • Way cool! Thanks for the post.

  • Great sound!
