Scenes like this were amazing and the dokey dragged out of the bar scene but to much weak writing and not enough supporting characters fucked it up.....tommy and kevin were spot on and jimmy was not enough times on form.....it would have turned out that nicky also kicked bobby donnelly to death he was one of the other guys with dokey.YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST

TBDs pilot was EPIC. The entire season was great. NBC either didn't know what a gem they had or didn't know what to do with it. Either way they're idiots for canceling a show with so much potential. When I think of the storylines that could have followed that finale all I can do is shake my head.

You know, I thought the entire series was great, and the acting was uniformly good... but I have to say, this entire pilot was spellbinding in a way that the rest of the series just could not match up to. The final scene, starting when the Snow Patrol song plays, is honestly one of the best, most gripping moments of television I've ever seen. It doesn't just make you root for them... it makes you FEEL their love and loyalty.

This show is amazing. And the last part where the Snow Patrol's song starts is one of the greatest scenes ever made. And I do not know why but whenever I watch an episode of The Black Donnelly's I want to play GTA IV. You know Packie McReary's family is similar to Tommy's and all this crime stuff. LOL

Watching it again, it gives me chills.

The obviously changed a lot of stuff around from the pilot. In the rest of the series, the police did in fact find the bodies and Tommy didn't have control of the neighborhood.

Yeah, but in the pilot it specifically says that those aren't the bodies they're talking about.

And as for taking over the neighborhood, I took that to mean that killing Huey was the first step toward Tommy taking control of the neighborhood, like the point of no return where it was all made possible.
